SUPERVISORY DATA SCIENTIST

Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 3 years, Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.

Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Data Scientist:
A: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. (You must attach a copy of your transcripts.
OR
B. Combination of Education and Experience: a combination of education and experience which includes courses equivalent to 30 semester hours as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional related education or appropriate experience. (You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

Specialized Experience: One-year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service which includes work that involves 1) Maintain and evolve the Enterprise Architecture Analytics Project in Army Vantage/ADP 2.0.
2) Maintain and evolve the OEM analytics methodology and tool (the "Integrated Diagnostic") in support of Army Defense Business System (DBS) Portfolio Management. 3) Support decision maker and stakeholder decisions to optimize business resources, increase efficiencies, and identify cost avoidance opportunities. 4) Develop insights to deliver positive business impact for assigned functional domains such as Acquisition, Financial Management, Installations, Energy & Environment, Human Resources Management, Logistics, and Training & Readiness.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
