SUPERVISORY ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST (T32)

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: This position is located in the Environmental Management Branch of the State Army National Guard (ARNG) Headquarters. Serves as the State ARNG Environmental Program Manager with responsibility for supervising and managing the state environmental program in conformance with Federal, state, and local rules and regulations. Serves as the focal point and technical expert to the Adjutant General; and provides advisory services to all units within the state regarding National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Installation Restoration Program (IRP), Air Quality, Water Quality, Hazardous Waste Management and various other environmental programs. Ensures that applicable Federal, state, and local environmental standards, regulations and laws are maintained. Assures compliance with policies, regulations, and Federal, state, and local statutes. Supervises technician and/or state personnel engaged in a variety of work directly related to the state environmental program.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least 12 months specialized experience to at least the next lower grade that provided experience, education or training demonstrating the knowledge of the principles, practices, and concepts of an environmental program sufficient to serve as the expert technical advisor on the various environmental programs. Experience demonstrating knowledge of environmental issues, problems and solutions regarding federal, state, rural and community environmental regulations. Experience in program planning or administration concerned with environmental protection or other activities related to environmental problems. Experience in an advisory or research capacity involving the creation of solutions to problems concerning environmental protection or other related activities. Experience using on-site investigation techniques, analysis of results and development of conclusions to insure conformance to environmental regulations. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
