Summary
This position is located in the 149th Logistic Readiness Squadron located on Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. The primary purpose of this position is to direct the development, coordination, and implementation of procedural changes; to direct the performance of management analysis and compliance for the activities under the jurisdiction of the Logistics Readiness Squadron Commander.
Texas is one of 9 states with NO state income tax.

THIS IS a Texas Air NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
Appointment Factor(s): This is an Excepted Service position that requires active membership in a compatible military assignment in the Texas Air National Guard and wear of the military uniform. Applicants who are not currently a member of the Texas Air National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the Texas Air National Guard.
Areas of Consideration: Nationwide Excepted. This includes:
- All currently employed full-time permanent, indefinite, and temporary personnel of the Texas Air National Guard.
- All current members of the Air National Guard and individuals eligible for membership in the Texas Air National Guard.
- Veterans' preference is not applicable to this position.
- This is a Non-Bargaining Unit position.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
Enlisted: E-6 (Tsgt) immediately promotable to E-7 (MSgt) not to exceed E-7(MSgt)
Compatible Military Assignments:
Enlisted AFSC: USAF/ANG/2S071 (No cross trainees accepted)
Compatible Military Assignment (per UMD): Applicants need not be assigned to the position or possess the AFSC to apply or be considered; however, applicant must be Duty AFSC assigned to a compatible position in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations upon selection.
Qualifications
To qualify at the GS-11 grade level, your resume must include relevant experience with beginning and ending dates of employment experience reflecting least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-09). supervising and/or managing supply personnel and a variety of supply functions. AND Knowledge on the entire inventory management supply system. AND Experience coordinating with other organizations on complex and controversial supply issues. Experience providing advice and guidance on supply regulations to upper levels of management regarding supply functions. AND Experience analyzing, developing, evaluating to improve supply programs, policies, procedures, techniques, etc. and Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

A combination of successfully completed post-high school education and experience that may be used to meet total qualification requirements. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades GS-9 and GS-11.

- Identifies developmental and training needs of subordinates and provides and/or arranges for needed development and training. Approves and/or disapproves leave requests. Promotes acceptance and adherence of special emphasis programs. Maintains an effective position management program.
- Direct the squadron readiness and training programs, and to direct resource management and systems management in support of unit mission. Position is responsible for the management, direction, and supervision of employees.
