This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Serves as a Supervisory Housing Manager in the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) at a large multi-mission installation.

- This is an inclement weather essential position and the incumbent is expected to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or/remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
- Must be available to be called back, after-hours, for emergencies.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08).
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State driverβs license.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience with the planning, management, administration, coordination and implementation of housing management programs such as Unaccompanied Housing (UH), Residential Communities Initiative (RCI), or Housing Services Office (HSO). Conducts inspections of various properties to determine adequacy, habitability and suitability for occupancy. Develop housing policy, collect data and prepare various briefs, charts, reports and correspondence.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
