Summary
About the Position: Serves as the Senior Civilian Deputy to the Material Management Branch Chief as a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist within the 1st Theater Sustainment Command Support Operations, Ft. Knox, KY.
This position is Emergency Essential and deployable.
Requirements
Conditions of Employment
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
- Required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, if selected.
- This is a Deployable position.
- Pre-appointment and Deployment Physicals are required.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) to hostile CENTCOM regions is required 30% of the duty time.
- This position is Emergency-Essential (EE). (see additional information for details)
- This position may require the employee to travel for long periods away from the normal duty station to include CONUS or OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
- Must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
- May be required to work overtime.
- The employee is required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings,
- This position requires employee to work under adverse environmental conditions and possibly live under field conditions.
- This position requires the employee to possess a current and valid state driverโs license.
- This position requires the employee to be able to obtain and maintain a military vehicle driverโs license
- This position requires the employee to be able to physically use a gas mask, night vision goggles, and to drive a militray vehicle.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) coordinating with staff and leadership to resolve logistics operation issues; 2) recommending actions and initiatives to enhance logistics management effectiveness; 3) coordinating and directing project management over logistics operations; 4) managing logistic operations and overseas service support such as deployment, redeployment, and movement of material between organizations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Education

The incumbent may be required to take part in readiness exercises and foreign deployments to hostile environments. This position cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the organization to function effectively; therefore, the position is designated "Key," which requires the incumbent to be screened from Military Recall Status.
