Job Description
Summary
Reports directly to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Matters but also interacts frequently with the Asst. Secretary of Defense for Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Defense Programs. The incumbent leads an office responsible for international partner engagements related to nuclear programs, operations and management of Mutual Defense Agreements (123 Agreements) under the Atomic Energy Act and the U.S. Government's responsibilities to the North Atlantic Treaty alliance.

- Must obtain/maintain a Special Sensitive (Top Secret) security clearance.
- This position requires an Program Management, Practitioner Level acquisition certification. You will have 60 months to achieve this certification.
- Selectee must execute, as a condition of appointment, a written agreement to remain in Federal service in the position for at least three years.
- This position may require travel away from your normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- This position is telework eligible on a situational basis.
- Overtime is NOT authorized for this position.

You may qualify at the NH-04 (GS-14/15 equivalent) level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your ability to:
- Executes nuclear modernization and sustainment using strategic deterrence and incident/accident response policies for US nuclear weapons programs.
- Manages nuclear weapons through NATO organizations and processes and Allied operations.
- Utilizing strategic and tactical planning to propose innovative solutions, considering through the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution process.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

This position requires a Program Management - Practitioner acquisition certification. The incumbent has 60 months to achieve this certification.
Selectee must execute, as a condition of appointment, a written agreement to remain in Federal service in the position for at least three years. Other priority consideration programs will continue under their current operating procedures.
