Summary
About the Position:
This position is located in the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Personnel Policy (ODASD (MPP), Office of Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manpower and Reserve Affairs (ASD (M&RA)), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Personnel and Readiness (USD (P&R)).
Serve as the Director of the Office of Financial Readiness in ODASD (MPP).

- Direct deposit of pay is required.
- One year probationary period may be required.
- Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
- One-year supervisory probation period may be required.
- You may be required to sign a transportation agreement.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing and/or evaluating personnel programs to include those addressing financial literacy and preparedness, developing policy for financial education and counseling programs, developing contracts and/or budgets alternatives to ensure effective use of resources, reviewing contract terms and/or monitoring contractor performance, and supervising employees and/or leading teams. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

- Planning and Evaluating
A writing sample may be required by management within the interview process.

- Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
- Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
