In this position you will support a single/multiple organizations and integration of Special Access Program, Information Security, Industrial Security, Personnel Security and more. Supervises personnel who perform security management, cybersecurity and security administration functions multi-program and test authority/agency security requirements.

- This is a national security position. Must be able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret/SCI security eligibly.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain Special Access Program and Sensitive Compartmented Information access eligibility.
- Some temporary duty (TDY) travel may be required
- The incumbent will be subject to random drug testing.
- The incumbent will be required to obtain/maintain DOD certification as a condition of employment. Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification
- Conferral is required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-MDOD Security Accreditation and Certification
- The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority (SAF/AA) or their delegated security career field representative.
- Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and Office of Personnel Management (OPM) prescribed "Unscheduled Telework"
- Up to 25% Travel possible
- Direct Hire Authority: NO 6-MONTH WAIT! Recently retired and/or retiring from MILITARY service ARE eligible for immediate appointment for AFTC positions.
- The 180-day waiting period has been waived for AFTC to hire recently retired and/or retiring service members.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management positions located here
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02 or equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include serving as a special programs security specialist, providing expert technical advice in the complex area of security for special access programs; supervises personnel who perform security management, cybersecurity and security administration functions multi-program and test authority/agency security requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of a wide range of security and information protection concepts, principles, and practices to review independently, analyze, and resolve difficult and complex security problems. Comprehensive knowledge of security policy requirements to function as technical authority in multiple security specialties in order to resolve major conflicts in policy, procedure and program objectives.
- Ability to work independently planning, scheduling, coordinating, carrying out, and monitoring the effectiveness of the operations of multiple security programs in attaining organizational operational and test mission activities.
- Ability to interpret, establish and monitor operating security programs to meet specific test and operational program situations involving multi-security classification and highly classified information, facilities, devices and operations.
- Ability and skill in establishing criteria for identifying and analyzing trends in security violations and infractions and other lapses security and measuring organizational effectiveness in achieving security objectives and goals.
- Supervisory/leadership skills
- Security experience working in SAP or SCI environments
- Experience working Collateral Security programs
- Experience in working in a Test Environment
