In this role as a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be recognized as a supplier quality expert within the company. Through partnering with our suppliers, you will drive performance and ensure Intelsat's quality requirements are maintained. Your activities will range from supplier evaluations performance monitoring supporting design industrialization to certification. Are you up to the challenge?
- Monitoring and managing supplier quality performance including the following activities:
- Participate in supplier approvals and maintaining the list of approved suppliers
- Develop and implement supplier scorecards
- Supplier auditing and re-assessments
- Manage supplier corrective actions
- Supporting source inspections and conformities at supplier sites
- Supporting Product Realization efforts including the following activities:
- Perform and/or audit Receiving In-Process and Final Inspection activities (internal and external)
- Conduct Airworthiness Inspections
- Conduct and audit First Article Inspection activities
- Develop and manage internal and/or customer specific quality plans
- Quality Management System support activities
- Maintain Supplier Quality procedures
- Participate in the Internal Audit program
- Participate in internal corrective actions
- Implement and manage Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing projects
- Develop, implement, and maintain Supplier Quality Assurance / Supplier Quality Engineering methodologies systems and practices which meet Intelsat Quality and regulatory requirements.
- Other responsibilities as directed and necessary for the business
You should definitely have:
- BS Degree in electrical mechanical aeronautical or industrial engineering or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in quality process and/or supplier engineering
- 5+ years' experience working within an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of statistics and statistical methods.
- Background in a medium to high volume system level assembly and/or SMT manufacturing environment including electrical mechanical and/or PCA components.
- Working knowledge on FAA Regulations including 14 CFR 21 and 14 CFR 145
- Technical knowledge in quality manufacturing or process engineering
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- PC Skills in database and data analysis systems
- Domestic and international travel is a substantial part of this position (up to 25%)
It would be nice if you had:
- Masters degree in electrical mechanical or industrial engineering desired
- 6 Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred
- ASQ CQE preferred
- ISO auditor certification desired
