Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage Supplier Quality related activities for purchased materials.
  • Communicate FAI and production requirements for suppliers and follow through obtaining all deliverables in a timely manner.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure all necessary quality activities are rigorously addressed during initial product release. Ensure supplier test strategy aligns with quality goals.
  • Support targeted “at-risk” suppliers with new product introduction and facilitate documentation review and follow up. 
  • Resolve quality issues via structured quality methods (8D, 5-Why, etc.) to ensure efficient and effective root cause analysis, and corrective / preventive actions that ensure there is no recurrence.
  • Orchestrate first article inspection / first production inspection, and ongoing inspection plans that are aligned with supplier’s capabilities, quality history and Seurat product needs.
  • Quality lead for assigned commodities in the Supplier Business Review (SBR) process, working closely with Supply Chain counterparts.
  • Quality lead in the Supplier audit process, working closely with Supply Chain counterparts.
  • Ability to create and present meaningful Quality metrics for assigned commodities.

 Qualifications:

 Required:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes for commodities such as optical elements or optical assemblies, optoelectronic laser assemblies, printed circuit board assemblies, power supplies, etc.
  • Strong process knowledge and some experience in all aspects of supplier quality management: quality concepts/tools/methods (e.g., FMEA, 8D, 5 Why, etc.), quality issue resolution and quality monitoring measures (use of statistical process control methodologies, CPK and data analysis is required).
  • Effective hands-on and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to consistently establish and meet aggressive timelines.
  • Ability to build and maintain productive cross-functional relationships. Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001: 2015 environment
  • Must be able and willing to travel, domestically and internationally

Strongly Desired:

  • Experience collaborating in a team environment
  • Experience with dealing with manufacturers of custom optics for high energy beam delivery systems and high power lasers
  • Experience with optoelectronic laser subassemblies such as high-power diode arrays, diode-pumped laser gain modules, Pockel Cells, Faraday rotators
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education/Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree BS Engineering degree and at least 5 years industry experience.

Travel:

Expectation is up to 75%
