Supplier Quality Engineering Manager

We're looking for a Supply Quality Engineering Manager to join the Snap Lab team!

What you’ll do:

• Lead, manage, and mentor an Asia-based supplier quality engineering team

• Work collaboratively with development engineering and NPI teams globally

• Manage Snap component suppliers and their quality controls including incoming quality controls (IQC), in-process quality controls (IPQC), and outgoing quality controls (OQC), from prototype to mass production builds

• Manage material quality related issues, drive mitigations, root cause and corrective actions (RCCA) at suppliers

• Manage component OK2ship review prior to parts being shipped from supplier factory

• Manage component qualifications through the production part approval process (PPAP)

• Drive Snap suppliers to improve yield, cosmetics, outgoing quality, and reliability

• Generate and maintain a material issue list (MIL) to track and follow up on RCCA and quality improvements

• Manage Snap suppliers on design for manufacturability (DFM), first article inspection (FAI), Cp/Cpk, manufacturing standard operating procedures (MSOP), gauge repeatability and reproducibility (GR&R)/measurement systems analysis (MSA), reliability, and component testing

• Work with Snap engineering on Design-for-Manufacturability, supplier process development, and tooling/fixture reviews

• Perform onsite supplier quality assessments on new suppliers and regular supplier process audits prior to builds

• Participate on sourcing board, scoring/voting for supplier selection, qualification, or disqualification

• Travel up to 30% of time to visit team, suppliers, or contract manufacturers in Taiwan and mainland China

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong knowledge and experience in supplier management and supplier quality controls

• Manufacturing or engineering background in consumer electronics or wearable products

• Knowledge of PPAP process with an understanding of FAI, Cp/Cpk, MSOP, GR&R, quality control plan, and reliability

• Failure analysis and problem-solving skills with knowledge of Six Sigma, statistical process control (SPC), and quality tools

• Knowledge and experience of reliability tests (environment tests, drop/tumble, UV, chemical, abrasion, etc.)

• Leader and team player, ability to motivate/mentor team for high performance.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with a high attention to details

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering (mechanical, electro-mechanical, optical, material science) or equivalent years of experience

• 11+ years of experience in supplier management or equivalent in high-volume consumer electronics manufacturing environment

• 3+ years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in engineering (mechanical, electro-mechanical, optical,material science or related field)

• Experience in supplier selection and supplier assessment/audit

• Experience working collaboratively with both internal and external partners, domestic and overseas

• Experience and management skills with a comprehensive background (mechanical, electro-mechanical, and optical)

• Proficient in written and verbal communication in both Mandarin and English

• Six Sigma green belt or black belt certification

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

• Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): The base salary range for this position is $230,000 - 335,000 annually

• Zone B: The base salary range for this position is $219,000 - 318,000 annually

• Zone C: The base salary range for this position is $196,000 - 285,000 annually

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs
