Are you a driven professional with experience in data analytics and forecasting? At Ascend Learning, the Safety & Security segment is a leading provider of online training in a range of high growth professions and academic areas, including public safety, workplace safety, insurance and securities licensure, and cybersecurity. We combine authoritative content with innovative educational technology to help educators teach more effectively and students learn more efficiently. Our comprehensive suite of print and digital education solutions is designed to enrich the educational experience and deliver results for secondary, post-secondary, and professional education markets. The company is seeking a talented analytical individual who can help grow and improve planning and inventory management for our book publishing supply chain operation.

The ideal candidate will have strong background in data analysis, and a desire to grow and elevate the entire sales and operations planning (S&OP) process. Candidate will be responsible for creating and managing statistical forecasting data for Ascend's Learning Safety and Security segment. A successful candidate will be detail-oriented, a strong communicator, demonstrate problem-solving and analytical skills, take initiative, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques to support S&OP process.
• Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
• Acquire data from multiple sources and maintain databases/data systems.
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
• Work with management to prioritize business and information needs to develop automated and ad hoc reports.
• Leverage and mine for data from multiple data sources to gain market intelligence and evaluate demand.
• Collect requirements to design reports and custom analytic tools to meet business objectives.
• Participate in discussions with business stakeholders and IT specialists to understand complexities in the data and prioritize projects.

Qualifications:

• 2+ Year experience in data analysis in sales, supply chain, or operations.
• 2+ Year experience with SQL or equivalent certification
• 1+ Year experience with Power BI, Tableau, DOMO, or other Analytics System
• 1+ Year experience data wrangling experience in data ingestion, cleansing, transformation, validation, and enrichment.
• Ability to identify opportunities to automate any processes for efficiencies
• Excellent analytical, problem identification, structuring, and solving skills with the ability to design solutions
• Team player and ability to thrive in a collaborative environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to develop polished communications for the entire operations, senior management, and IT staff
• Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships both internally and externally with employees and senior executives
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel (VBA/Macro), PowerPoint, Access)
• Experience in Edtech or traditional book publishing preferred

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or other relevant field preferred or equivalent work experience.
