Supply Chain Analyst - US - Apex, NC

The Blueprint (Role Profile)

Therole of the Supply Chain Analyst at Apex Tool Group is central to thedevelopment and maintenance of our supply and demand plans for specificchannels or key accounts. Reporting to the Senior Manager of the Sales andOperations Planning (S&OP) department, this position represents asignificant growth opportunity based out of Apex, NC.

The Build (Responsibilities)

  • Improve upon existing demandforecasting statistical or machine learning methodologies by developing modelenhancements, running computational experiments, and fine-tuning modelparameters for new forecasting models.
  • Manage the demand plan for assigned channels or key accounts.
  • Collaborate and maintain strongrelationships with internal and external suppliers. Evaluate supplierperformance and assess supplier reliability to mitigate potential disruptionsin the supply chain.
  • Transform data into actionable insights; design and conductcomplex ad-hoc analyses with a high degree of independence.
  • Manage monthly billing estimate process with Sales & ChannelMarketing teams.
  • Analyze demand using supply chain software and Tableau reportingtools, including forecast accuracy, historical trends, and monthly changes toimprove performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Procurement,Warehousing, Logistics, and internal teams, to ensure seamless supply chaincoordination, assess changing needs, and address challenges effectively.
  • Revise the demand plan as needed as an output of S+OP meetings todrive business MRP systems properly.
  • Responsible for the North American demand plan for Weller brandsproduct
  • Lead the S+OP meetings and processes relevant to Weller.Maintaining an 18-month forward plan by critical product hierarchy.
  • Making strategic recommendations for improved processes such aspromo forecasts, customer forecast data management, and inventory management.
  • Support financial management analysis needs and goals.
  • Lead regular meetings prioritizing sales opportunities with plantoperations to improve customer service levels.
  • Drive inventory management initiatives to maintain optimal stocklevels and reduce carrying costs. Collaborate with internal teams and suppliersto improve inventory turnover rates and minimize excess inventory.

The Toolbox (Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, mathematics, engineering, business,supply chain, statistics, or a related field.

    Minimum 1-2 years of experience in an analytical role involvingdata extraction, analysis, statistical modeling, and communication.

  • 2-3 years of experience in Demand Planning, Operations, InventoryManagement, Supply Chain Management, or Procurement, demonstratingprogressively increasing responsibility and autonomy.
  • Working knowledge of SAP (or other ERP) and leading demandplanning software tools preferred.
  • Knowledge of data programs and techniques, Tableau, and MS Excelis preferred.
  • Familiarity with advanced statistical analysis techniques andpredictive modeling to enhance demand forecasting accuracy.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliancestandards related to supply chain operations.
  • Strong analytical skills and project management skills.
  • A willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing businesspriorities.
  • Works primarily independently to achieve stated performancegoals.
