The purpose of this position is to provide financial and statistical analysis for the distribution center in relation to workforce management, including forecasting and scheduling. This individual will effectively exhibit JD Finish Line's core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following main duties:
  • Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills and Manhattan labor management tool to project workforce needs and scheduling direction, short-term and long-term, to DC operations leadership and human resources partners.
  • In a constantly changing environment, identify volume alteration triggers, variable data, and coordinate contingency plans for unusual volume.
  • Assists DC operations leadership with forecasted budget for the current and next fiscal year's distribution center labor costs, broken down to a weekly level; evaluate company directives given for expected sales and volume of product flow; factors in all relevant events when establishing future and maintaining current year's budget; continually analyzes and makes necessary recommendations for adjusting current year's labor hours/cost as necessary to stay on budget.
  • Continually reviews report setups, codes and data to ensure valid information is being provided to the management team in regards to labor standards, forecasting, and workforce labor scheduling.
  • Improve planning and scheduling performance by effectively analyzing sources of initial error; communicate appropriate corrective action.
  • Assists developing and maintaining reports to mine pertinent data on a re-occurring and/or ad-hoc basis.
  • Utilizes various tools to analyze distribution center associate performance, efficiency rates, productivity metrics, and absenteeism and report to management as needed.
  • Assist in implementing new workforce management tools and resources as they become available.
  • Develop ad hoc reports relating to supply chain management to meet internal business requirements as needed.
  • Based on analysis of distribution center data, makes recommendations for process improvements.
  • Executes stretch assignments in supply chain finance
  • Additional duties and projects as required.


Required Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and 2 - 4 years of applicable work experience in data analysis, preferably supporting a supply chain or retail function. Internal JD Finish Line experience strongly preferred.

Required Computer and/or Technical Skills

Computer literate with the ability to learn distribution center software and labor management applications. Should have advanced knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Excel and Access and/or Google Sheets. SQL is a plus.
