JOB DETAILS

Remote work (Travel 10-15%)

Full-time Schedule: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Supply Chain buyer will ultimately be responsible for successful movement through the steel procurement cycle for multiple Cornerstone manufacturing plants. Achieving this overarching goal entails multiple responsibilities described below

  • Review demand signals and plan inbound steel shipments to maximize service levels with the lowest possible inventory footprint
  • Make ongoing supplier selection decisions based on sourcing objectives
  • Collect supplier performance data and lead supplier performance management review initiatives / discussions
  • Monitor and analyze price and spend data utilizing established tools and methodologies
  • Manage performance against KPIs on an ongoing basis and report out on them during monthly team meetings
  • Participate in supplier relationship review exercises and maintain existing relationships
  • Exercise sound judgement on priorities and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Other duties as directed that support Cornerstone steel supply chain
  • Create weekly inventory reports with Oracle applications
  • Create Purchase Orders for procurement of the necessary coil to paint, process, or distribute to all of Cornerstone divisions to fulfill the company demand
  • Monitor and maintain adequate levels of inventory at manufacturing plants
  • Work closely with Plant associates and Inventory associates to resolve receiving/inventory issues
  • Communicate with coworkers effectively and promptly

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in supply management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Familiarity with the steel mill and metal service center industry a significant plus
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (to include Pivot Tables) / Word / Outlook/ PowerPoint
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook applications
  • Previous use of systems like Oracle and SAP
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a focus in Operations Management or Supply Chain Management highly preferred
  • Exposure to assessing and developing processes highly preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

The US base pay range for this full-time position is $55k-75k per year + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
