Position Summary:
The Analyst III reports to the Director of Supply Chain Analytics at Johns Hopkins Health System (JHHS). This position is part of an Analytics team that is flexibly deployed to support strategic supply chain initiatives. The Analytics team consists of three levels (Analyst I, Analyst II and Analyst III), and the Analyst III is the most experienced analyst on the team. The analysts are cross-trained and can contribute to these strategic initiatives through a range of activities, including, but not limited to, data analytics, financial analysis, capital analysis, contract review and analysis, and project management and implementation. Analyst III will play a critical role in enabling data-driven analytics to support corporate, hospital, warehouse, and Ambulatory Surgery Center supply chain decisions and operational improvements. Analyst III will be expected to facilitate collaboration across Supply Chain and other hospital network stakeholders to support transformational and ongoing sourcing, value analysis, procurement, and inventory management initiatives.
The Analyst III will be tasked with complex collection, cleansing, visualization and interpretation of supply chain data to inform business intelligence, drive strategic supply chain decisions, and ensure effective use of technology. This role is responsible for independently developing and delivering high quality analytics and reporting solutions for Supply Chain and external department stakeholders. He or she will help establish analytics as a core competency in the Supply Chain organization by designing and implementing advanced data management, data mining, visualization, and other mature analytics capabilities (e.g., AI, machine learning). The Analyst III will lead cross-training initiatives in the Analytics team, standardize analytics processes with the Analytics and Supply Chain teams, champion process improvement and efficiency opportunities (e.g., automation, scripted jobs, RPA solutions), and execute other tasks as assigned.
Education:
A relevant bachelor's degree is required (e.g. computer science, informatics, management of information systems, data science, business, supply chain, engineering). A Master's degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Equivalent work experience may be substituted
Work Experience:
Minimum of three years related experience, or two years related experience with a Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, computer science, analytics). Business intelligence, data analytics and project management experience in a supply chain health care setting is preferred but not required.
Knowledge:
• Strong understanding of analytical approaches for answering business questions in supply chain.
• Knowledge of data modelling and visualization as well as other analytical concepts which enable clinical and non-clinical supply chain improvement initiatives. Understanding of data architecture, governance and warehousing.
• Knowledge of supply chain, relational databases, SQL and reporting software.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of ERP Supply Chain applications (e.g., SAP), Warehouse Management Software and EPIC to enable data analysis preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of the above in a health care setting is preferred.

• Expertise in one or more of the following: data modelling, scenario planning, visualization, data mining, large-scale data extraction and transformation
• Verbal and written communication and presentation skills up to and including executive level (e.g., explaining complex concepts in simple terms)
• Relationship building and interpersonal skills, when interacting with department heads, employees, clients, consultants and other staff
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams (e.g., value analysis teams, physicians and clinical staff and administration support staff)
• Ability to flex between being detail oriented and creating high level/initiative program recommendations
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment and meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Attention to detail to produce accurate reports and analysis
• Project management skills including project planning, risk identification, issue mitigation and identification of (cross-workstream) dependencies
• Advanced data visualization experience is required; Tableau preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Advanced skills in mining, cleansing, and utilizing information from supply chain databases (e.g., ERP, relational databases, data warehouses, SQL)
• SAP, EHR, or Warehouse Management Software preferred but not required
