Position Summary
This Supply Chain Intern is responsible for ensuring that key Supply Chain data is reliable, meaningful, and easily accessible to ensure timely, accurate, and fact-based decision making. Support all activities relating to Supply Chain functions - including, but not limited to, collecting, and analyzing data and trends, inventories, tracking supplier performance, recommending target inventories, interfacing with third party manufacturers and suppliers, reviewing and processing of engineering change orders, expediting, maintaining ERP/MRP data and Approved Supplier Files and databases.
Supply Planning and Inventory Management
- Prepare weekly reporting of shipments and open orders/backlogs.
- Maintain Supply Chain master data and assures data quality (e.g. SAP material and vendor master data, pricing and validity, etc.)
- Communicates with suppliers to provide accurate forecast data
- Provide support for ongoing inventory reporting.
- Review production capacity with suppliers and Contract Manufacturers to ensure demand can be met.
- Develop and distributes monthly and quarterly Supply Chain performance reports to ensure targets are met.
- Provide inputs to SIOP process regarding forecasts, purchasing plan and inventory levels.
- Prepare ad-hoc reporting and analysis based on specific requests made by the Sr Manager of Global Supply Chain.
Order Management
- Performs procurement and delivery functions such as creating purchase orders and placing with suppliers.
- This includes expediting orders as necessary to avoid/resolve line-down situations, managing transitions to new part revisions, and re-schedules product receipts when excess inventory is on-hand.
- Follows up on supplier delivery performance issues
- Resolves issues with receipts and invoices
- Provides feedback on supplier performance
- Assists with return of products to suppliers.
- Identifies potential process improvement efforts to improve quality and reduce costs
Analysis
- Reviews and analyzes inventory levels for raw, WIP and finished goods
- Reviews and analyzes ordering trends such as average cost per line item, average total cost order, and average orders by suppliers
- Analyzes transportation costs for inbound materials and outbound finished goods
Relationship development
- Cultivates relationships with internal and external associates with direction from management to resolve open issues and identify and drive continuous quality and cost improvement activities with key suppliers.
Training to be Provided
Students will be exposed to working with various operations and product support departments within BMT. They will learn key requirements which need to be followed in a regulated environment such as the medical device industry. Training may cover relevant aspects of medical device development procedures, along with more specific aspects related to BMT products.
Additionally, our interns and co-ops benefit from a buddy program, career development programming, and opportunities to build their professional networks virtually and in-person with BMT professionals.
Required Skills
Minimum
- Third- or fourth-year undergraduate student with an intention of majoring in Supply Chain, Business, Finance or a similar discipline
- Ability to research data using internet/online sources
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
- High level of professionalism
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships across all levels both within and outside of the organization
- Demonstrated mathematical aptitude
- Ability to work both autonomously with limited supervision and as part of a team
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence and maintain high levels of communication and feedback with peers, management and various stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to work/quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high-quality work
Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Bracco Medical Technologies/ACIST Medical Systems.
Preferred
- Previous experience working in an office environment
- Previous experience working with external organizations such as suppliers
- Ability to travel to other BMT Medical sites (if necessary)
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
- Knowledgeable in Supply Chain requirements of ISO 13485
- Contract preparation and negotiation experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of quality policy/system expectations.
Other
- The position requires relationship building with both internal and external process stakeholders and indirectly managed resources.
- The individual in this position must be resourceful and committed to protecting the company's interests by balancing both short-term and long-term requirements.
- Mental demands - work is detail oriented, often with multiple priorities. The environment is deadline sensitive and may be exposed to high-pressure situations.
- Limited travel may be required

- Eden Prairie, Minnesota (no relocation or housing assistance available)
Term/Hours
- May start dates are preferred, but other start dates may be considered.
- Hours: 40 hours per week
