Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Will lower risk and maximize profits by encouraging Segment family unity and clear responsibility in addition to designing, creating, and implementing new ways to empower team members to demand working capital improvements with a primary focus on inventory management and improving DIO (Days Inventory Outstanding).
- Define along with process leads and finance leaders potential working capital opportunities and execution plans and drive improved awareness and engagement through effective communication to internal stakeholders
- Establish improvement targets and relevant metrics to monitor and measure working capital efficiency related to operational areas of focus
- Establish accountability tools and measures to ensure sustained efforts and track progress
- Work in the areas of inventory velocity, inventory accuracy, open purchase order commitments, cycle count programs, overstock, excess & surplus program (OES), scrap programs, global inventory view awareness and usage, inventory improvement plans, lead time management, build plan execution and systems based disciplined material management
- Identify levers to drive best inventory practices during up and down cycles, and train the organization on the use of such practices
- Partner with Finance, Supply Chain, and Sales on Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable improvement opportunities
- Partner with the Corporate Working Capital Team to determine priorities and help with identification, planning, and roll-out of relevant initiative
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement, monitor, follow up, beware of various KPI matrix (i.e. Transactional Health Scorecard, Inventory relocation tool, supply demand analysis, days invoicing ratio, etc.) at the segment level, business level, ledger level, and cost center level that will create accountability worldwide. Will use teams to conduct meetings for trackability/accountability.
- Design and implement inventory reduction strategies, reserve policies, and procedures.
- Design and implement policies with regards to working capital after reviewing and possibly standardizing current business practices (inventory, accounts receivable , and accounts payable).
- Create inventory summary statements for upper management
- Create marketing and training material (ie. sharepoint site with communication that is critical to working capital.
- Train operations and work with programmers to develop/enhance KPI for the enterprise (business level+ reviews)
- Design and distribute manuals, newsletters, and all forms of educational marketing material.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Distribution, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial/Systems Engineering or related field. Master's degree is a plus
- Minimum of 5-10 years of related work experience
- Certifications such as CPA, APICS CPIM/CSCP, Lean Six Sigma etc. desired
- Experience with Business Systems (ERP) such as JDE, Oracle EBS, Oracle Cloud, Omega, EPICOR, etc.
- Proficient with financial reporting systems, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint
