Position Title:  Supply Chain Manager

Position Location:  Guilford, CT

 

SUMMARY:  

To help us continue our growth, we’re seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager. As an ideal candidate, you have proven experience in a highly dynamic setting. Your organizational, communication, strategic thinking, and leadership skills are second to none and you enjoy developing solutions that push innovative boundaries. You’ll work closely with others to strategize and develop long-term plans that lead to new levels of success of the Company. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • This role leads and coordinates activities of planning, issuance of purchase requisitions and inventory management to ensure the availably of product to meet customer demand while maintaining appropriate inventory levels. 
  • Responsible for developing manufacturing global strategy taking into account cost, volume, sales region, technology, weight, support model, etc. 
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers in coordination with our Contract Manufacturer. 
  • Responsible for ensuring the product build plan is in alignment with the system sales forecast such that raw material is available yet inventory levels are controlled.
  • Seek labor and material cost reduction opportunities while maintaining quality and renegotiate best-price contracts to increase product margins.
  • Coordinate and report out on specific supply chain issues as necessary
  • Develop collaborative relationships with suppliers; monitor performance (KPI’s) and resolve issues
  • Partner with Suppliers to explore available opportunities that will yield benefits in support of supply chain business goals
  • Support TAC and Field service groups to maintain high level of customer satisfaction
  • Support manufacturing, from engineering and quality objectives, to meet company goals 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL:  

  • Familiarity with Netsuite, Oracle, SAP or other ERP systems and solid computer skills (Word/Excel) 
  • Knowledge of Sales and Operations Planning process, Good Manufacturing Practices and standards such as ISO13485 (preferred) or ISO9001.
  • Experience with master production scheduling and materials management and understanding of Inventory Management principles and accounting practices.
  • Ability to maintain and manage corporate confidential information as well as confidential customer information.
  • Knowledge of organizational methods and the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or government guidelines.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal individuals/groups, suppliers, customers, and the public when necessary.
  • Ability to analyze data and utilize to drive optimization and problem solving.
  • Ability to think strategically and at the same time solve practical problems across a variety of situations.
  • Proven negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions, as well as to think strategically 
  • Professional communication skills, both written and oral
  • Excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during peak periods of activity. 

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  

  • 4-year college degree in business, management, science, engineering, industrial technology, or related field required.  
  • Minimum of four years of experience leading manufacturing operations areas and technical operations teams. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

  • Ability to travel to suppliers and contract manufacturers, including international travel 10% of the time. 
  • Ability to use a variety of office equipment, test equipment and computers
