Position Summary:
The Supply Chain Manager will support the operation of several of the Company’s pre-clinical product development programs and support delivery of the project goals. This position will play a critical role within Technical Operations supporting activities for clinical supply chain and logistics related activities in support of the clinical trials at various phases. This position will work/integrate cross-functionally as well as ensure that key project milestones are defined and met and that appropriate communications occur with stakeholders across functions and/or external partners. This role will report directly to the Director of Supply Chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute clinical drug supply chain and logistics activities for cell therapy clinical programs
- Interface with cross functional teams (Clinical Operations, Finance and Project Management, etc.) to ensure timely support of the projects
- Coordination of patient supply and as main point of contact for internal/external stakeholders on patient scheduling (Apheresis collection/transportation, cryopreservation, and packing/shipment).
- Create/oversee patient- or therapy-specific delivery plans, including tracking and verifying chain of custody, chain of identity and certificate of compliance
- Schedule shipments within parameters set ups which may include product release, document approvals, completion of cryopreserved materials
- Communicate plans and itineraries with stakeholders and ensure stakeholders are kept up to date on any changes to plans or itineraries
- Support Incoming Material receipt in-house, as needed
- Develop process mapping for products in various phases, as needed
- Facilitate and coordinate distribution of DS, DP, Finished Product, Consumables, Ancillaries from GMP Storage facilities
- Conduct necessary training, create and update/develop Supply Chain SOPs
- Monitor Cell therapy products through the logistics tooling
- Support gaps and risks identified for cell therapy-based shipments and ship docs.
- Drive ad-hoc meetings to review exceptions/changes relating to Supply Chain
- Manage KPIs for Supply Chain performance
- Drive continuous improvement to increase robustness and efficiency relating to Supply Chain
Requirements:
- B.S. in scientific fields with 6+ years related experience in Cell therapy/Biologics supply chain and logistics
- Ability to understand pre-clinical and IND drug development process in cell therapy
- Ability to understand and communicate scientific and business elements to multiple internal audiences
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Good planning and organizational skills coupled with strong time management skills
- Effective, open, and transparent communications skills (verbal and written)
- Working knowledge with intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong experience managing supply chain activities for US and / or global clinical trials including managing and overseeing supply and distribution centers
- Capable of working on multiple projects/tasks and able to meet timelines
- Experience in building and maintaining drug forecast and distribution trackers and/or clinical inventory management system
- Experience working on cross-functional teams and participate in highly functioning teams
- Team-oriented, progressive thinker who enjoys participating in an innovative and creative work environment
- Ability to travel approximately 20%-25%
The anticipated salary range for the position of Supply Chain Manager based in our Menlo Park, CA office is $127,000-$156,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Synthekine is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states. We comply with all state, federal and local laws regarding pay practices.
