Working under direct supervision of the Supply Chain Planning Manager, the Supply Planner will oversee the Supply Planning (MPS and inventory) requirements process. This is a hands-on position responsible for developing and executing the supply plan and inventory plans that will enable King's Hawaiian to meet sales and service objectives. Collaboration with other members of the supply chain, Operations, sales, marketing, and customer support teams is paramount to achieve these sales and service objectives. Employees in this position may interact with their leader when needed to receive guidance and feedback. Some non-routine activities may require their leader's advance approval, but routine decisions within the general scope of the role may be made independently.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Designing and generating weekly, monthly, and yearly inventory reports
  • Continuously improving Kinaxis output and approach for the master production schedule
  • Relating and measuring the impact of production accuracy
  • Evolving and maintaining documentation and standard operating procedures for supply planning processes and systems
  • Conduct current and future planning analysis, insuring forecasting processes and methods are followed
  • Establish and utilize best methods (statistical models and software tools) in creating forecasts and respective inventory targets
  • Make recommended adjustments to plan and inventory targets based on changes in demand and production actuals.
  • Lead weekly production meetings with operations, reviewing future production plan to meet inventory goals (emphasis on new product introduction, branding transitions and promotions)
  • Manage inventory targets (including safety stock levels) that are approved by management
  • Prepare, report, and communicate forecast and inventory measurements to management (forecast accuracy, inventory plan vs. targets, etc.)
  • Proactively facilitating, re-engineering, best practices & consensus between functional experts (Demand Planning, Inventory Planning, Purchasing, Sales & Marketing, Operations, Finance, and IT)


BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college (Business, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related field) or equivalent relevant experience required;
  • At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in master scheduling, forecasting procurement and planning required.


ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE)

  • Strong knowledge of planning process within Consumer Packaged Goods Industry
  • Experience using ERP systems and/ or other statistical software packages
  • Good communication and team building skills
  • Strong analytical capabilities, detail-oriented and extreme accuracy
  • Extensive spreadsheet analysis and strong mathematical abilities
  • Experience with DRP/MRP functionality
  • Knowledge of turn rates
  • Knowledge of key inventory performance metrics, turns, margin contributions, etc.
  • Ability to lead cross-functionally
  • Collaborative skills in resolving long and short positions in inventory
  • Experience in managing end of life cycle and absolute inventory
