Our company and the department:

Patheon Softgels B.V., part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, is a global pharmaceutical company, the Softgel Business Unit which is part of the Pharma Services Group.

The company develops and produces different pharmaceutical and nutritional products for its own product portfolio and for its customers. The production facility in Tilburg is operating 24/7 and we have 8 production lines. The facility has two Warehouses (Raw materials & Finished product) and a Quality Control Lab. Also, external warehouses (3PL and packer) are used.

The Supply Chain group coordinates the "Make to Order" flow between the departments Business Management, Procurement, Production, R&D and Quality. In order to manage and balance the end-to-end variations throughout the Value Stream, the Supply Chain group needs to take a pro-active leading role in the Tier Meeting Structure. In addition, they provide support for financial reports to the Finance department and coordinates preventive maintenance activities with the maintenance team.

The scope of supply chain covers seven major areas:

Client Services Planning Procurement Warehousing Transport Trade Compliance Production Support

The team solves complex challenges to deliver our products on time and in full to our customers. It considers trade-offs between on time and in full delivery service, inventory and cost; makes scenarios where supply and demand are not in balance; considers multiple interdependent constraints; and drives resolution in case of Value Stream issues.

The supply Chain Specialist reports to the Supervisor Supply Chain.

Are you our new Supply Chain Expert?

As Supply chain specialist you will be the key player in our logistics network. Your responsibilities will include coordinating production activities, optimizing processes, and closely collaborating with our internal and external customers.

Your role is crucial in ensuring on time delivery, efficiency, quality, and cost control within our Supply Chain team. With your expertise, you will not only help us maintain quality standards but also contribute to innovation within the supply chain.

What will be your key activities:

  • Planning: In coordination with production you will plan customer orders according to scheduling restrictions (rhythm wheel), according to optimal batch sizes where possible and enter MPS- and work orders based on requested delivery dates, raw material availability and production capacity, based on standard lead time
  • Raw materials purchasing:
  • Order management of customer orders: You and your colleagues are responsible for the entry of customer orders in the ERP system, according to agreed quantities, price and sending out the order acknowledgements.
  • Shipment of customer orders: Prepare shipping documents according to the correct incoterms for clients and Invoicing of shipped batches

What are your strengths:

  • Communication: Ability to communicate proactively, considering the comprehension levels of parties to whom the communication is addressed.
  • Customer orientation: Ability to put the customer needs first and schedule accordingly.
  • Overview: Helicopter view of situations and processes over time, recognizes problems and take appropriate actions
  • Planning and organizing: Ability to achieve goals, set priorities and determine the time required. Indicates courses of action and resources required to achieve the goals.
  • Problem-solving capability: Recognizes important information, makes connections between data, thinks of alternative solutions, and indicates consequences.

Required knowledge and experience:

  • Bachelor or University level in Logistics/Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of MS office
  • Familiar with planning- and logistic concepts
  • Written and verbal English language
