Our Supply Chain team is seeking a Supply Planner based in Los Angeles to help support the growth of our company.

The Supply Planner has five main responsibilities:

  • Forecast ingredient quantity needs based on sales forecasts and historical trends
  • Analyze deviations from forecast and partner with Demand Planner and supply chain to mitigate shortages/overages
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on supply risk mitigation, develop action plans to support long lead times and distributors potential delayed time of arrival.
  • Develop and improve upon current forecasting tools and processes
  • Audit contracted ingredient costs compared to actual ingredient costs

Forecast ingredient quantity needs

  • Analyze inventory to achieve target levels for all restaurants at the supplier level
  • Work closely with Demand Planner to evaluate fleet needs against internal and external production plans to evaluate supplier supportability
  • Perform ad hoc forecasts as needed for specific ingredients, new items, and contract renewals, Develop a communication methodology and cadence to share forecasts with Top Tier suppliers
  • Anticipate and detect supply issues and lead the prompt resolution to minimize or negate market impact. Communnicating supplier inventories against forecasted needs. 

Analyze deviations from forecast

  • Track and report purchases compared to forecast and adjust the supply forecast accordingly
  • Analyze forecast performance and drive year over year improvements in accuracy
  • Develop recovery plans on potential stock-outs due to under-forecasting or late deliveries 
  • Partner cross-functionally to identify root cause for deviation, whether that is recipe and prep variance, unexpected waste, higher/lower sales, marketing events, operator error, etc.

Cross-functionally manage the Sales and Operating Plan (S+OP) process

  • Analyze, prioritize, and manage supply cycles for all assigned products and categories 
  • Using statistical forecasting methodology, create a forecast for each seasonal ingredient by region and week
  • Collaborate with S&OP leadership on supply chain strategy and assure system resources are in place to support KPI targets
  • Contribute to system and process improvements, and work cross functionally to creatively sold any business issues that arise

Improve our current forecasting process and tools

  • Utilize statistical forecasting methods to create increasingly more accurate and real time forecasts
  • Improve current tools to capture more information that affects forecast (accuracy, holidays, sales trends, historical trends, etc.)
  • Using SQL, or other methods, create a forecast dashboard that automates much of the data gathering, updates in real time, and is viewable for supply chain team members 
  • Develop a forecast tool for restaurant operators to utilize to aid in purchasing decisions
  • Partner with Demand Planner to develop long term needs with our farming partners
  • Long term - implement a software supplier portal to share real time forecasts with suppliers and distributors

Manage the contracted ingredient cost audit process

  • Maintain contract management system with current contracts and pricing for contracted ingredients and delivered cost for each ingredient and region
  • Audit distributor bid sheets and invoiced prices to discover deviations from contracted costs
  • Work collaboratively with Systems Administrator to receive credits for contract deviations

  • Statistical mindset and detail oriented
  • Ability to successfully handle many projects at once
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate clearly across multiple channels and supply chain partners
  • Proficient time management, task management, and project prioritization skills

Desired Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Operations Management
  • 3-5 years experience in demand and/or supply planning. Experience with fresh produce supply chains preferred
  • Advanced excel skills in modeling, pivot tables, and data analysis
  • Working knowledge of forecast techniques
  • Experience with Tableau, SQL or other querying languages
  • Experience with Arrowstream, Coupa preferred  
  • Experience leading Sales and Operations Planning process preferred
