Job Description:
The Supply Planning Manager is responsible for leading the development of the master production and inventory plan which will drive the production, finished goods inventory, and financial cash plans, balancing the customer service, finished goods inventory and cost goals.
To continuously improve the service performance of Maesa brands by improving the supply-chain processes to drive value for our customers, to surpass the competitors and make the supply-chain a vector for the business development and profitability growth.
This role reports to Supply Planning Sr. Manager. Roles and responsibilities could expand to other areas based on candidate’s skill-level and performance.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and communicate daily/ weekly / monthly production plans based on demand to meet overall customer service levels as well as finished goods inventory and non-quality cost targets.
- Accountable for delivery - on time, in full, and at cost
- Develop direct & detailed understanding relationships with domestic/international vendors on the manufacturing capabilities of the locations
- Coordinate to review capacity plans and manage scheduling optimization in line with Maesa specific SC policy and sourcing decisions (service, cost, and inventory) at 3PL, and MAESA China.
- Collect facts and data to defend MAESA positions in a fair manner and sort out responsibility with specific understanding of LT /MOQs /Production Schedules /Shift Patterns/ Transit times/Shutdowns
- Perform and publish root cause analysis on key metrics including customer service and inventory levels, clean inventory discrepancies between system and data from Vendors
- Lead & Summarize weekly Drumbeat meeting for assigned Category/Brand- escalating to review issues and actions relating to the production schedules, consistent with the agreed supply policies
- Manage timing of replenishment & Launch productions such that desired product quantities are available at needed time
- Identify required changes for End Caps/ Promotions and re-balancing of production and production shift requirements
- Participate in action reviews of marketing / sales activities and ensure that relevant learnings are incorporated into future production plans
- Review customers’ forecast and orders with demand and sales teams’ vs contracts, lead times
- Provide input into future S&OP process. Work to identify and resolve supply, capacity, with recommendations to support the business and operational planning needs over the 0-24 month horizon
- Publish production and finished goods inventory plans to include the development and execution of the Colibri planning software models to solve for capacity and inventory using the demand forecast and agreed inventory policies.
- Collaborate with cross functional SC ie: (Packaging/ R&D/ Regulatory/ Project Mgmt) to support innovation, capacity, and efficiency: Leading continuous improvement initiatives and Problem -Solving cases
- Monitor & Update budgets/POW’s as it relates to execution of components, bulk and filling to ensure project margins are maintained (or improved)
- Accountable for data accuracy in the system, codes/BOMs/ LTs/ Scrap Factor
- Communicate BOM and Fill and Assembly changes to vendors
- Lead cross functional meetings each period
- 24-hour rule - Making a concerted effort to acknowledge and/or address all inquiries within 24 hours upon receipt
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- 3-5 years of supply chain experience which could include Marketing, Production Scheduling, Demand Planning & Forecasting, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Customer Service or Logistics (knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program in a related field, or equivalent work experience)
- Familiar with Manufacturing and Supply Chain management field concepts, practices, and procedures, including inventory management, forecasting principles & lean principles
- Understanding of factory production and product supply environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to influence
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills utilizing advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel to demonstrate skill in data analysis, inconsistencies /anomalies in routine data.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Works in compliance with established procedures and/or protocols
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Flexibility and willingness to take on additional responsibilities when needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Operations, or a related field
- Preferred experience of inventory replenishment, production scheduling, or logistics with proficiency in ERP planning software.
- MBA or advanced engineering degree is a plus
- Experience working with overseas contract manufacturers’
- Epicor /Tableau / Colibri knowledge
