PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

This job is responsible for supervising a unit that is responsible for resource planning, scheduling functions and the short-term field coordination activities to meet resource and workload requirements and customer expectations for personnel enterprise wide across the organization. This position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide leadership to a unit that is responsible for resource planning, scheduling functions and the short term field coordination activities to meet resource and workload requirements and customer expectations for personnel enterprise wide across the organization. (20%)
  • Supervise the provision of required documentation, materials, and resources in support of maintenance and construction activities as well as ensuring the work is initiated, processed, documented and closed out in compliance with PSC regulations. (20%)
  • Oversee reports sent to management on program performance including overall program profitability; capital spending efficiency, forecasting variance explanations. (20%)
  • Establish performance measures and targets. (10%)
  • Oversee the assignment of work to Company and Contract crews considering cost, availability and expertise. (20%)
  • Make improvements and modifications in processes, procedures and standards to improve customer satisfaction and reduce costs. (10%)

JOB SCOPE

Supervises staff within a department. Works within prescribed operating procedures. Work output impacts planning processes, budgets, company operations, etc. One has authority to make decisions within a defined set of guidelines and refers decisions outside of those guidelines to higher level.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum high school diploma plus 6-9 years' work experience including at least 5 years' experience associated with gas and or/electric distribution, transmission, substation construction or maintenance activities.
  • Working knowledge of PC based and job/work management applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic business plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, schedule, manage and coordinate the work activities of an organization with very diverse functions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to anticipate and resolve problems promptly
  • Demonstrated leadership skills consistent with the Leadership Model
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and utilize technical standards to complete work.
  • Availability to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree

2-3 Years Supervisory experience

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license

Extensive knowledge of the collective bargaining agreement and related procedures, policies, and processes

Ability to develop, document, and train personnel in work processes

Experience in the construction, maintenance, and operation of overhead and/or underground electric distribution facilities

Working knowledge of PC based and job/work management applications including Asset Suite 8, oneMDS, Network Management System,

Microsoft Applications, etc.

team-oriented work ethic
