Job Description

The Surety Specialist/Surety Account Manager provides the highest level of customer service in servicing, supporting and coordinating clients' accounts.

Essential Duties:

  • Primary contact for all surety bond requests from clients
  • Supports issuance of new bonds, collecting needed documentation, and reviewing obligation details with client and surety
  • Review contracts for relevant information and communicate appropriately to client and surety
  • Request and collect quotes from sureties, provide quotes for bonds to clients
  • Assist UM/Team Lead in compiling information for new business opportunities
  • Input Client information into data management system
  • Complete new account transitions including discovery of all existing bonds, setup of new account file, invoicing, data input, etc.
  • Delegate invoicing to appropriate associate
  • Engage with Producer and Accounting Department to appropriately determine action plan and assist in collection efforts or billing discrepancies
  • Research industry trends and governmental regulations
  • Develop and maintain dependable working relationship with carriers and other providers
  • Engage in industry-related Associations & events
  • Mentor and train junior-level staff
  • Perform other responsibilities and duties as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field and/or years of experience equivalent
  • 3-7 years of surety client services experience is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills required
  • Understands industry trends and governmental regulations
  • Ability to complete continuing education requirements as needed
  • Ability to attend company, department, and team meetings as required, including industry training sessions
  • Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting confidentiality of client and company information
  • Ability to work independently, with a demonstrated understanding of when to involve the UM, Team Lead, Producer, and others
  • Ability to efficiently organize work and manage time in order to meet deadlines
  • Ability to travel by automobile and aircraft
  • Ability to use office equipment such as a computer, keyboard, calculator, photocopier, and facsimile machine
  • Ability to work on a computer for a prolonged amount of time
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours as needed
  • Legally able to work in the United States
