Position Summary:

Greenworks Global Design department is looking for a Surface Designer to join our design center in Mooresville NC to focus on concept surfacing.

The Surface Designer will support development of amazing design solution to help our brands thrive. We are searching for creative problem solvers who are also exceptional at execution. 

Responsibilities

 Focus on early conceptual surfacing for evaluation purposes by Industrial Designers via Keyshot or 3d printed models.

• Assess and modify A-class production surfaces based on the industrial design intent using Creo, Alias, Solidworks, or similar CAD platform.
• Drive and support design projects from concept to final solutions in close co-operation with other disciplines.
• Be the important link/glue in-between Industrial design and R&D.
• Insure that the final form is met in accordance to the brand design strategy and other appropriate constraints.

Requirements

 Degree (Associate / Bachelor) in engineering technology, design or similar fields.

• Minimum 10 years’ experience working with A-class surfacing in CAD in close cooperation with industrial design.
• Knowledge of CREO and/or Autodesk Alias.
• International mindset; fluent language skills in English.
• Ability to travel to domestic and international locations.

• Excellent skills translating 2D designs into 3D forms and surfaces.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop high quality working relationships both internally and externally that encourages feedback and dialogue with others.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving, being flexible and the ability to be self-directed in completing tasks within required timelines.
• Good understanding/knowledge of materials, engineering/production methods and different manufacturing processes.
• Strong planning and organizational skills, including a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.
