Job Description

Reporting to the Nurse Manager, this position , under the supervision of an R.N., assists physicians and nurses in preparing for surgery and during surgical procedures; and performs related duties as required.
Ability to meet all job & physical requirements as outlined in job description or as agreed through a work place accommodation.

Current BLS
Previous Surgical Technician or OB Tech experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
Six months operating room experience with a completion of formal Surgical Tech. Training Programs preferred.
One year recent experience as a unit secretary preferred.
Completion of Terminology Course preferred.
Prior computer experience highly desirable.
Requirement for Surgical Tech II in the Operating Room: One year of experience and Surgical Tech Certification (CST) required.
Requirement for Surgical Tech II in the GI Lab: Two years of experience and a GI Certification (SGNA in lieu of a CST) required.
