Party Chief

Job Summary: Huitt-Zollars has a great full-time time opportunity for a Party Chief at our Rio Rancho office. The successful candidate will have at least 4 years of combined experience in all phases of land surveying, construction, boundary and topographic surveying. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a premier architectural and engineering firm that's on the leading edge of design and national development.

Location: Rio Rancho, NM

Employment Type: 40 hours/Full-Time

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Independently performs surveying assignments, making exact measurements, and providing data relevant to the shape, contour, location, elevation and dimension of land or land features
  • Operates and maintains all instruments and measuring devices including levels, robotic total stations, GPS equipment and data collectors
  • Knowledge of Trimble Field Equipment and data collector software
  • Download and upload survey data to data collectors and office computers
  • Mentor and train other staff
  • Lead survey crew in daily activities.
  • Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of vehicles, tools, and equipment
  • Experience in office preparation of survey drawings using AutoCAD software, a plus
  • Ensure proper procedures are in place when transferring field data to office

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years land surveying experience
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Working knowledge of surveying
  • Highly motivated
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to operate Trimble Robotic Total Stations, Trimble GPS Equipment, data collectors, digital levels, and other related equipment.
  • Valid Driver's License

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, type/key-in data
  • May lift and carry up to 50 pounds, hike up and down steep slopes carrying up to 50 pounds of survey equipment.
  • The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
  • Employee may be asked to walk on uneven terrain.
  • May work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Bend, squat, dig monument holes, pound in stakes and rebar monuments.
  • Carry and use brush cutting equipment
  • May drive survey vehicle
