Survey Party Chief
Job Description
A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT), an employee owned consultant engineering firm, is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to join our Team in Richmond, VA office.
Salary
$25-$35 per hour with optional overtime
Company Truck β Optional Direct travel from home to jobsite w/occasional office check-ins
AMT has developed a reliable system of allowing field staff the ability to direct travel to and from the jobsite. This allows for a flexible work life balance while still accomplishing our project goals. Occasional office visits are used for project kickoffs and debriefs.Β
Responsibilities
- Performs field data collection for boundary and topographic surveys
- Performs construction stakeout
- Captures accurate daily notes, records, and sketches to describe work performed.
- Perform as both a one-person crew or two-person crew
- Reports directly to the licensed surveyor on daily activities
- Manages and mentors instrument operator
- Training entry-level survey staff
Qualifications
- 3 years or more experience in surveying
- Must have knowledge of field surveying procedures and ability to operate surveying instruments. Knowledge of GPS, engineering design software and total station and data collector. Familiar with CAD and Office Suite.
- Positive attitude and professional bearing.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new tasks and develop personally and professionally.
- VDOT Experience is a plus.
- Survey courses and/or degree is a plus
