Sustainability Analyst
Job Description

BBH is looking for a Sustainability Analyst to support our Corporate Social Responsibility program, Sustainable BBH. Sustainable BBH has ten focus areas that include our client investing and reporting solutions as well as our firm's environmental, philanthropic, and DEI efforts, among others. The Sustinability Analyst will manage the program reporting and help BBH continue to make progress against our goals. This person will work with the Co-Sponsors of the Executive Sustinability Council, the Council itself, and the Program Director to establish and refine priorities and identify new areas of focus.
BBH values annual transparent reporting and the Analyst will be one of the main drivers of the annual Stewardship Report. This entails managing deadlines and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across the firm as well as Creative Services to deliver a comprehensive and robust report while always looking for ways to improve and/or incorporate emerging standards and trends. As a result, we are looking for an individual with experience with sustainability/ESG data broadly, with an understanding of how sustainability metrics are gathered and calculated, and which data points are relevant in various contexts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drive our Sustainability Progress
- Lead analysis and reporting on elements of Sustainable BBH, the Firm's CSR program.
- Monitor ESG regulatory and industry developments and recommend priorities/actions for the Firm's consideration.
- Collaborate with senior leaders and SMEs across the firm to drive continuous progress towards our Sustainability goals.
- Partner with internal communications to update and educate BBHers on Sustainability efforts and accomplishments.
- Partner with external communications and marketing teams to inform external stakeholders and the industry about our Sustainability accomplishments.
- Prepare documents for and attend our Executive Sustainability Council meetings, recording decisions and next steps.
- Project Management
- Project manage and assist with the strategy, creation, and publishing of BBH's annual Stewardship Report and related sales and marketing materials.
- Publish updates to the sustainability section of our bbh.com website content to keep the site current and fresh.
- Manage meeting agendas, logistics, and areas of focus of the Executive Sustainability Council.
- Data Management and Reporting
- Management of ongoing ESG reporting and new and emerging requirements as they develop.
- Work with internal SMEs and other stakeholders to ensure program reporting is executed flawlessly and amplified across our distribution channels.
- Help build out our sustainability reporting process and infrastructure across the Firm.
- Partner with the line of business RFP teams to showcase our accomplishments to prospective clients and respond to incoming client and prospect inquiries.
Desired Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in sustainability, ESG, and/or CSR programing in the corporate space
- Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
- Relevant professional certifications are a plus (e.g., GRI, LEED, SASB, ISSP, ACCO)
- Work experience and/or education in sustainability, ESG, or CSR programing
- Experience and working knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks and standards.
- Demonstrable knowledge and enthusiasm working in sustainability or related fields (e.g., corporate responsibility, climate change, waste management, ESG reporting/auditing)
- Data-driven mindset, experience using clear measures to inform decision-making and sell in ideas.
- Experience managing large-scale projects with multiple stakeholder groups.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to see open issues to resolution.
- Excellent written and verbal communications
- Strong client management, facilitation, concept development, project leadership and communication management skills
- Ability to take initiative, work independently and see things through.
- Innovative mindset, with clear demonstration of bringing unique ideas to life.
- Strong collaborator with a proven ability to influence and effectively manage multiple stakeholder interests.
