Overview of the Role:

Are you looking for a new opportunity to make a difference? We are looking for a Sustainability Lead Project Manager who will be the center of excellence for ESG establishing and tracking ESG KPIs and goals. This role will look to identify areas and processes to which improvements can be made in accordance with the organization’s commitment to sustainability, leading and tracking ESG projects in support of reaching the ESG goals.

This position will interact with senior managers, executives, and outside stakeholders to establish and track ESG data, while identifying creative ways in which the organization can balance business obligations while respecting, supporting, and improving the local and global environments. The Sustainability Lead Project Manager will also aid/lead new product development and innovation projects focused on sustainability, working with product design managers and cross-functional teams to monitor cost, schedules, human resource needs, and technical performance of components within the projects and operations.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Regular attendance and punctuality required
• Lead ESG Steering committee meetings presenting updates to ESG KPIs and goals
• Consider sustainability proposals with ESG leads from other departments paying attention to factors such as cost-effectiveness, feasibility, and ease of integration
• Develop/maintain ESG knowledge by interacting with industry sustainability experts attending conferences, participating in webinars and other networking
• Conduct research to identify environmental and sustainability concerns, interests, and issues
• Champion and manage an entire cadre of ESG and development projects focused on sustainability. Project management includes the estimation of time requirements internally and with vendors, the development of schedules of action items and responsible parties, tracking schedule completion, adjusting where necessary, and communicating adjustments when deemed appropriate. Additionally, is responsible for documenting all project parameters (ROI, BOM, benchmarking, testing, regulatory requirements, spending, etc.)
• Responsible for supervision and guidance to all assigned staff while supporting teamwork and interpersonal relationships. This includes the coordination of human resource requirements and assigned project segments with product design managers and cross-functional team members
• Responsible for preparation of capital expenditure requests; recommendation, specification, approval and costing of equipment, components, labor, and tooling; control of spending; managing and administering the budget; and ensuring achievement of benefit objectives
• Maintenance of ESG project tracking, ESG KPIs and ESG goals

Successful Candidate Profile:

• Passion for sustainability and leading projects/activities related to ESG
• Bachelor of Science Degree (Chemical/Sustainable/Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science preferred)
• 2 to 4 years of relevant project management/engineering/sustainability experience required
• Experience with Eco-LCA, GHG Protocol/Emission Accounting and Ecotoxicity a plus
• Knowledge of sustainability and industry sustainability metrics and practices
• Good analytical capabilities, attention to details, documentation, records keeping, communication, and presentation skills
