About The Position

Facilities Management and Construction (FM&C) is a facility management organization that provides facility and master planning leadership for office, warehouse, training, and operating centers located throughout Ameren's service territory. The Sustainability Strategist leads facility sustainability planning to ensure alignment between Ameren's facility portfolio and corporate strategy.

Key responsibilities include:

• Responsible for the successful development and delivery of all activities related to achieving environmental and sustainability objectives for the Facilities Management & Construction (FM&C) Team. Develop and maintain the FM&C sustainability strategy and ensure the execution of strategy goals.

• Understand the intersection of FM&C sustainability initiatives with global ESG, wellness, and sustainability targets for the corporation.

• Ensures alignment between FM&C's and Ameren's environmental and sustainability goals; develops programs and initiatives to help achieve goals and establishes KPIs to measure performance against goals and dashboard to include reporting framework.

• Consistently demonstrate subject matter expertise on energy performance, embodied carbon, health and wellness, water efficiency, indoor environmental quality, materials selection, zero waste, policies and programs, and overall sustainability in the built environment.

• Coordinate with FM&C teams to advise on all projects that may include fit-outs, retrofits, building upgrades, New construction, energy and sustainability projects.

• Collaborates with the FM&C's Statistic Planning to drives optimization of Ameren's facility portfolio.

  • Lead standards development, specifications, product, furniture & finish selection focused on sustainability goals.
• Identifies opportunities to reduce facility capital and O&M costs through sustainability strategies minimizing environmental impact.

• Collaborates with Corporate Communications to help design, execute and communicate the Sustainability Strategy with an emphasis on Change Management best practices.

• Prepare and present dynamic and concise presentations and reports for presentation to Ameren's Senior Leadership Team.

• Develop effective working relationships between corporate sustainability groups, FM&C teams and stakeholders.

  • Leadership of FM&C projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, interior design, environmental studies, or closely related field required. Five or more years of professional-level experience in facility planning, project planning or management required. Team leadership experience and experience in a corporate environment are preferred. Comfortable presenting and speaking in group situations. Ability to read and understand building drawings is preferred. LEED accreditation and working knowledge of USGBC/GBCI/IWBI processes preferred.

  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Word, Excel) and Windows products.
