What You'll Do:
As a Sustaining Engineer at Traeger you will be responsible for product support and optimization to meet and exceed customer expectations. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented engineer who is passionate about saving money and solving problems. This role will be interacting with our international manufacturing team and suppliers regularly and evening conference calls will be expected. Â
How You Will Help Us Win:
- Proactively identify opportunities for enhancing the products design and manufacturing process to improve reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements and track the impact of changes thru an established Engineering Change (EC) process.
- Work closely with the Quality team to ensure product quality standards meet or exceed company requirements.
- Implement quality control processes to reduce defects and improve product reliability.
- Partner with Costing and Sourcing partners to analyze product cost structure to identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Partner with Manufacturing and Supply Chain partners to identify opportunities for process and logistic efficiencies.
- Develop and implement cost reduction strategies while maintaining or improving product reliability and performance.
- Maintain accurate records of cost-down initiatives and quality control measures.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in similar engineering positions interacting with overseas manufacturers.
- Familiarity with overseas manufacturing processes and supplier management.
- Experience writing/guiding product changes thru the established Engineering Changes (EC) process.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with ability to communicate both written and verbally as needed.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Disciplined and data-driven problem-solving skills.
- Ability to take regular evening (in US) conference calls with manufacturing partners.
- Ability to travel domestically and international up to 20% of the time.
- Highly self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to work with teams cross functionally.
