Job Title: Senior Vice President, Data Engineering

Location: NYC 

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, this role will lead the engineering teams responsible for building the underlying data platforms that enable frictionless experiences for our members in the Clear Plus Lanes and Partner Applications. This key leader will drive the strategy for not only the existing infrastructure for our airport experience, but also for enabling the next generation of CLEAR products built on our highly successful identity platform. 

You will lead and continue to grow an internationally based engineering function, you will directly manage and mentor a team of leaders to continue building a world-class organization, as well as shape the strategic direction of all core technical strategies and solutions. As a senior technical leader for CLEAR, you will partner closely with executives across multiple departments including Product, Business Operations and Growth, to review, plan and prioritize both short and long-term roadmap deliverables and then set plans in motion for successfully driving deployment of our next generation data platform.

What You Will Do:

• Partner with the CTO and other peer stakeholders across Engineering, Product and Growth to prepare a strategy and execution plan for our data platform
• Build a culture of agility, equipping and enabling teams with the tools/resources needed to balance between rapid delivery and the build of robust systems and software architecture
• Attract, engage and elevate the recruiting process by prioritizing efforts to enhance CLEAR's brand presence as a technology destination and inclusive environment for top-tier talent
• Work with Product Management to drive and develop a strategic program roadmap
• Mentoring and guiding the professional and technical development of leaders and engineers on your team and continuously improving software engineering practices
• Bringing a passion to stay on top of current technology trends experiment with and learn new technologies, and participate in internal and external technology communities
• Encouraging innovation, implementation of cutting edge technologies, outside of the box thinking, teamwork, and self organization 
• Define and deliver our data platform strategy, taking us from humble beginnings to  a robust and secure data ecosystem that is automated in every part of our infrastructure and unlocks the next generation of intelligent, frictionless CLEAR experiences

Who You Are:

• A successful candidate will have an established background in developing software, a strong technical ability, excellent project management skills, great communication skills and a motive to achieve results in a fast paced environment
• This individual will have a strong track record of helping to deliver an effective, highly-available, and flexible technology platform in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift quickly
• 15+ years of experience in understanding all aspects of software engineering, including coding, maintenance, data, architecture, and design
• 7+ years of experience successfully leading people managers to drive accountability, impact and delivery across their individual teams
• Drive Operational Excellence of a consumer facing software solution
• Experience in modern data ecosystems as well as cloud native applications
• Up to date with technology trends and experience in building cloud native is a plus
