The Role: 

Reporting to the ​General Manager for Data Business, this leadership role of Global Head of Sales and Business Development hold responsibility for the overall revenue and go to market strategy for Forge’s data products and will be responsible for facilitating exponential growth of data product adoption over the next few years.

The successful candidate will champion the execution of tactical programs with targeted revenue objectives, partner successfully with peers and stakeholders across Marketing, Product, Technology, Operations, Finance and beyond, partner externally with vendors and data source providers and distributors and oversee the hiring of a world-class Sales, Relationship Management and customer success team.

Working with Product, this candidate will champion continuous validation of features through research and feedback with external customers.

Will also work closely with Forge’s Marketing team to develop messaging, articulate value propositions, drive awareness, create and convert sales leads, and reduce customer acquisition and retention costs.

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in building a Global Data Sales team from the ground up, a data-driven approach to success through KPIs and OKRs for their team, a relationship builder across internal and external stakeholders with a proven track record of developing high-performing, diverse, and inclusive teams.

Responsibilities: 
  • Build and manage a global sales team, including go-to-market specialists, distribution partners, and customer success solution architects working with product, engineering, and operations to address customer needs and, ultimately, ensuring executive-driven success measures are met/exceeded 
  • Expand geographic footprint developing international relationships and establishing ourselves as an international data provider.
  • Expand data product adoption with distribution partnerships to position ourselves as private market data leaders.
  • Grow the customer segments for Forge Data and develop sales & GTM strategies for each segment.
  • Partner closely with product management team, operations, marketing and sales team by driving content development and value proposition creation.
  • Identify and engage early adopters to test product ideas and understand client priorities and concerns. Partner with Strategy for Pricing new products using comparative analysis and industry knowledge.
  • Develop and build deep, and long-term relationships with strategic clients and partners. Initiate and develop innovations and service packages, explore sophisticated, differentiating, exclusive partnership models to scale outreach and customers.
  • Contribute to the development of ambitious KPIs for revenue targets. ensure buy-ins from internal stakeholders. Develop and translate overall GTM strategy into sound annual and quarterly sales plan. 
  • Defend and grow Forge’s market position and market share by implementing strategies to protect revenue in existing brands, as well as researching and understanding competitor’s actions, strengths, and weaknesses.
  • Perform in-depth customer analysis to understand customers’ business strategies, priorities and needs, as well as anticipate forthcoming business opportunities. Tailor-design solutions towards customers’ needs by utilizing the entire Forge Global ecosystem.
  • Identify sales and business development opportunities; expand offerings into existing accounts and identified prospects by having a high level of understanding of customer’s business strategy and their requirements. 
Qualifications: 
  • At least 15+ years of experience in a Sales, Business Development, Product, out of which 5+ years should be leading a sales team with P&L responsibility
  • An undergraduate degree focused on Finance, Marketing or related
  • Experience in the financial industry, working in financial data products
  • Proven experience in building and strengthening relationships as well as changing client perceptions 
  • Ability to address escalations and resolve problems based on a data-driven approach, as well as listening and understanding of customer’s needs
  • Proven experience of working in a team in a matrix environment and delivering strong results
  • Experience in building and scaling a team
  • Passionate about innovating solutions, delighting users, and inspiring colleagues
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence through partnerships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven proactive builder of diverse, inclusive, high-performance teams

  • Experience with private market investments is a plus
  • Experience at growth stage startups is a plus

  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time in an office setting or in home office setting while working
