Today, the average technology company is in existence for more than 12 years before going public. During that period, they need both primary financing and secondary liquidity to grow their companies and retain employees. In February 2021, Forge announced that it launched Forge Company Solutions (FCS) a comprehensive suite of technology financing solutions for private, high-growth companies. FCS enables growing private companies to design and manage customized primary financing and liquidity programs including executive liquidity, company-sponsored employee liquidity with cashless exercise, and direct listings.

Through FCS, private companies maintain control of the offering, deciding how much equity employees can sell and when and, importantly, who is allowed to invest. Combined with Forge’s ability to access capital on the behalf of companies, Forge is helping companies stay private longer and control their destinies. The need for robust technology solutions and services to help companies stay private longer has never been greater, and Forge is seeking a world-class leader to spearhead this incredible opportunity.

Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, this executive leadership role holds responsibility for the team, strategy, P&L and operations of FCS.  The successful candidate will oversee the hiring of a world class sales and client management team, champion the execution of financing programs for companies with targeted revenue objectives, and partner successfully with executive peers across Marketing, Product, Technology, and Finance. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in executive management and strategic leadership, a strong ability to partner with and influence C-Level executives, an enthusiastic approach to collaboration with other internal executive leaders and their teams, and a strong track record of developing high-performance, diverse and inclusive teams.

The Role:

The Head of FCS will lead the development and implementation of strategy, grow the FCS business exponentially, and lead the execution of Company-sponsored events through coordination with the executive leadership team of the company. Working with the Product, Design and Technology teams, they will help create, articulate and execute a product roadmap. They will ensure clear communication between internal teams, and continuous validation of features through research with external customers. They will also work closely with Forge’s Marketing team to develop messaging, articulate value proposition, drive awareness, and create and convert sales leads.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record as a leader as well as experience developing and launching large scale financial products globally.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead as a key stakeholder in building the infrastructure, roadmap and technology needed to scale the FCS business
  • Assist in the development of the sales plan. Prepare forecasts and KPI reporting for use in organizational planning, financial forecasting, budget setting and strategic planning
  • Establish a thought leadership role in the industry, and operate as a lead evangelist to raise awareness and drive the adoption of the FCS products with asset companies, lawyers, venture capitalists and private equity firms
  • Build and manage relationships with these executives towards the ultimate goal of delivering Forge Company Solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners in product, design, engineering, operations, finance, and marketing to define and execute roadmaps
  • Partner with the Forge Capital Markets team to ensure positive issuer experience and successful execution of liquidity programs
  • Continuously improve, implement and document best practices and metrics for our business
  • Monitor the competitive landscape to help identify and prioritize opportunities to accelerate our growth strategy via tracking of private companies, active investors, and precedent transactions
  • Lead Forge’s FCS business strategy, initiate and debate key strategic topics and opportunities relating to the FCS’s team’s work, and drive bold, high-impact decisions
  • Effectively communicate at all levels of the organization including executives and board members
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in a general manager role, including experience scaling a sales team through high growth at a leading financial technology company
  • Strong industry relationships, specifically with C-Level executives in the technology sector and the relevant venture capital investors, as well as the third-party providers that service them (law firms, investment banks, valuation and accounting firms, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of the mechanics of private market finance including originating and executing both primary and secondary capital transactions
  • Experience in a complex, cross-functional organization where your teams need to collaborate and integrate with other teams across multiple disciplines
  • A demonstrable track record of world-class strategic leadership, able to balance long-term strategy with driving short term results
  • Exceptional project management plus technical, verbal and written communication skills
  • Technical expertise at an appropriate depth to enable seamless collaboration with development and product teams
  • Ability to effectively challenge the status quo and collaborate cross-functionally in the development of detailed roadmaps
  • Passionate about innovating solutions, delighting companies, and inspiring colleagues
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions
  • A believer in the power of a diverse, inclusive and high-performance team culture as a key differentiator in a highly competitive marketplace
  • A significant network of talent across all functions needed to succeed in this role
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence through partnerships
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time in an home office/office setting while working
