Role Summary/Purpose:

Provide strategic HR leadership to the Diversified, Value & Lifestyle (DV&L) platform within Synchrony. Support senior executives and General Managers across a diverse geography within the US to deliver comprehensive HR support to portfolio employees.

This position is eligible to work remote, where you will work from home, and may require you to occasionally commute to one of our hubs for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training, and culture events. Remote candidates will be considered who live near any Synchrony hub locations.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Platform CEO and business leaders to develop and drive HR strategies to achieve overall business objectives.
  • Proactively develop HR strategies to meet short and long-term business needs and manage strategies from conception to implementation.
  • Provide advice and counsel to leadership team, helping develop solutions and strategies to meet business needs.
  • Drive key HR initiatives across the P&L, including but not limited to organizational effectiveness, employee relations, talent acquisition, succession planning, compensation programs, performance management and employee engagement and development.
  • Lead and develop an HR team to ensure effective HR/business partnership and service delivery throughout and across the platform.
  • Lead efforts to improve HR process efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Partner with Hub leadership and local HRMs to implement proactive employee relations strategies, leading initiatives across hubs and virtually to drive employee engagement, diversity & inclusion, retention and a positive work environment.
  • Rigorously manage HR compliance in accordance with applicable employment laws, state and government regulations and Synchrony Financial policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of HR experience at a management level
  • BA/BS in relevant discipline
  • HR expertise - depth in multiple HR disciplines (employee relations, development etc.) and proven execution in large and complex organizations
  • Strong business acumen and HR leadership experience - proven track record of acting as a strategic HR business partner with senior leadership
  • Strong external focus and superior client relationship skills
  • Proven leadership skills - demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team
  • Strong relationship and influencing skills with ability to effectively engage at all levels of the organization and across P&Ls/functions
  • Proven track record in developing and executing comprehensive HR strategic plans
  • Strong leadership coaching and assessment skills
  • Excellent written/oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Analytical capability - ability to anticipate business needs and develop HR strategies to meet short and long-term business needs
  • Excellent facilitation, negotiation, employee relations and conflict resolution skills

Desired Characteristics:

  • Global HR experience
  • Master's degree in Business or Human Resources
  • Leadership program graduate

Grade/Level: 15

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
