Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, the SVP, Product will own the product vision and translate that into an executable roadmap that delivers consistent product enhancements that improves our customer's experience and drives sustainable profitable revenue growth, supporting DigitalOcean’s objective of achieving $1BN+ revenue in 2025. The SVP, Product will lead the Product Leadership team, which includes Product Strategy, Management, Docs, and Design, with a goal of providing leadership and a strong voice for product innovation in the context of the broader strategic objectives of the company. This SVP will manage pricing/monetization, organic product strategy, inorganic product strategy (partner/buy), and research. This leader will need to be highly collaborative with the Engineering teams, Corporate Development, Revenue teams, etc.

What you will be doing (in the first two years): 
  • Own the end-to-end Product vision and strategy for DigitalOcean.
  • Develop a product vision that is translated into an executable multi-year product delivery roadmap, supporting DigitalOcean’s goal to grow 25%+ of revenue sustainably derived from new products/capabilities less than three years old.
  • Engage with DigitalOcean customers and Revenue teams to understand market opportunities, customer needs, technology intercepts and utilize the “voice of the customer” to keep our product roadmap responsive to market trends with a goal to enable sustained robust customer and revenue growth.
  • Cultivate (retain and attract) a strong and diverse Product team that understands our customers’ unique needs, and create career development paths within the Product group for this talent.
  • Own Build, Buy, Partner decisions in collaboration with Corporate Development. This includes understanding the technical requirements of our customers, and being able to drive successful business cases for approval across the executive team.
  • Build strong working relationships across the company, including Engineering and Infrastructure teams, to regularly achieve buy-in that facilitates repeatable and consistent product delivery, from ideation, roadmap, development, launch, metrics reporting and ongoing enhancements.
  • Effectively work with our Corporate Development team to establish buy and partner strategies that accelerate product roadmap execution
  • Develop an external facing voice to promote and enhance the DigitalOcean brand for product innovation, via blogs, social media, press and other relevant forums.

  • Solid planning, priority setting, and project management skills with experience managing multiple projects and resources concurrently.
  • Execution-oriented.  Will work closely with engineering and other functions to ensure high-quality products can be delivered against deadlines to achieve planned product and business outcomes.
  • Will be an evangelist for DigitalOcean and is comfortable with a public-facing role to communicate our product strategy and build relationships across the technology community, including investors, customers, and media.
  • Thrives managing and driving change amid the ambiguity associated with a business growing from $500M in revenue to $2+B.

The salary range for this role is specific to candidates located within the U.S. and will vary for candidates outside the U.S..).
