SVP Product Innovation and Development

About this position
As the Sr. VP of Product Innovation & Development, you will ideate and develop an innovative product plan for the next 3 to 5 years in conjunction with product marketing and research. Direct R&D to create an innovative product funnel that meets our marketing strategy and aligns with our ingredient policy and customer expectations.
You will collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, QA, Regulatory, International GMs, and Marketing to deliver products backed by science. You will also need to be a creative, resourceful, hands-on leader that can motivate and drive results with a broad scope.

What you'll do
- You have product development experience from the bench to the operational level to ensure commercial viability. Minimum of 15 years needed
- You provide directions and mentor R&D staff to make proper technical and business decisions.
- You deeply understand US and Canadian regulations and the dietary supplement cGMP process. Understanding Mexico and ANZ product registration and regulation will also be helpful.
- You develop a strategic product innovation funnel with the Marketing and International team across all product categories.
- You develop highly effective consumer experiential products with unique positioning that differentiates Plexus Products.
- You're able to understand the competitive market trends and consumer expectations.
- You understand when to do clinical or applied research to improve production messaging and claims.
- You deliver results cross-functionally with Procurement, Regulatory, Quality, and third-party manufacturers.
- You are responsible for creating credibility in this MLM channel with science, evidence-based products, and communication with consumer perceived benefit.
- You are responsible for the ideation, creation, management, and execution of product launches and planning for highly successful product introductions and post-launch marketing campaigns with a 360-degree field-oriented approach.
- You ensure product value with unique or positive consumer experience and pricing competitiveness.
- Your understanding of the compensation plan and its impact on pricing strategy and field behavior is critical.
- You create consumer-focused sensory testing and other tests that create perceived value for the products.
- You continue to develop and improve science communication via the blog and other media.
You should have
- You have an MS or Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Chemistry, accredited Nutritional Science, or Bioscience.
- You're a sitting VP with 17+ years in product development and marketing and 5+ years in a leadership role, ideally with exposure to beauty, health, and wellness products in international markets. Direct sales industry experience preferred.
- You are a driven, self-starter, strategic in thinking and execution, detail-oriented with highly developed business acumen, curious, passionate, and possess strong critical reasoning skills.
- You can work in a fast-paced environment and manage high complexity and multiple projects simultaneously while working across company functions with many different people and teams.
- You collaborate with others and thrive in a team environment while meeting individual goals and expectations.
- You anticipate obstacles, communicate effectively and plan accordingly.
- You are adept at providing solutions and working in cross-functional areas to facilitate the successful completion of projects.
- You contribute to the professional development of a team and provide innovative leadership.
