Essential duties include the following:
- Analyzes, computes and approves all quoting opportunities by negotiating product pricing for SWBC Life or with the front ceding insurance company.
- Act as subject matter expert for Credit Insurance & Debt Cancellation (Payment Protection), participates in all Discovery Calls with the customer as well as sales presentations, both in person and over the phone.
- Oversees the staff and daily operations of the administrative and sales support team on the creation of sales proposals, complete program implementation including contracts and lending forms packages, and ongoing support to include delegating work assignments; administering coaching, counseling and discipline to include termination; conducts interviews for open positions, setting performance plans to achieve department goals, and resolving personnel related issues.
- Provides profitability risks management of inforce programs by carrier and account and determines if, and when, pricing and/or program parameter adjustments should be made, balanced with retaining the account, and implements such changes.
- Prepares and issues all required policy equipment and contracts for new business, handles creation and pricing of new policy equipment for SWBC Life Company and SWBC Property & Casualty Insurance Company (forms and rates filed with multiple state departments of insurance).
- Prepares regulatory filings and conducts audits required by regulation for the Texas Department of Insurance and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) for SWBC Life.
- Creates Profit Share calculations by preparing computations for SWBC Life and reviewing and approving analysis from front companies on reinsured cases.
- Participate actively in relevant industry organizations to stay abreast of industry trends, networking opportunities and gain competitive intelligence.
Serious candidates will possess the minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Management or related field.
- More than (7) years in Life/Disability Underwriting, insurance risk management and payment protection insurance and/or related experience, which includes at least four (4) years in a managerial capacity in a similar environment.
- Strong regulatory knowledge pertaining to Life & Health (for Credit Insurance) and Property & Casualty (for Debt Cancellation).
- Strong management, organizational, and leadership skills in order to teach and mentor others.
- Proficient in MS Office suite of products.
- Strong analytical skills, effective negotiation skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong time management and interpersonal skills.
- Texas Life & Health License.
- Able to travel locally and nationally.
