Reports to: Assets Management

Overview: Sources the appropriate engine(s) in the correct configuration, cost, location and delivery for Fleet and AMS engine swings.

Essential Duties:

- Sources engines for fleet and AMS engine swings. Researches, finds and assigns engines from internal/external approved vendors.

- Resolves and negotiates adder/missing parts discrepancies with vendors.

- Identifies and resolves supplier performance and quality issues.

- Effectively monitors and maintains appropriate levels of swing engine inventory. Communicates changes needed, such as adding cores to the swing pool to prepare for forecasted swings.

- Investigates and processes Warranty work. Collects information, establishes facts, draws valid conclusions, and effectively communicates findings to operational personnel and vendors.

- Composes technical correspondence and maintains confidential records and integrity of swing engine data in MRP system.

- Helps develop the scope, technical content, and works with Strategic sourcing through the vendor RFP process for Swing Engines.

- Serves "on call" rotation.

- Works with the team in developing improved work processes for the fleet.

Non-Essential Duties: Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to:

- Perform all essential duties.

- Communicate well with cross-functional departments (Operations, AMS, Accounting, Transportation, Vendors, and Internal Shops).

- Demonstrate Team Player attributes.

- Work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize work and meet deadlines.

- Proficient using: Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Etc.), Oracle and other business systems.

Knowledge:

- Exhibits comprehensive technical knowledge and technical terminology associated with a variety of Waukesha, Caterpillar, and Cummins engines and thorough knowledge of engine mechanics and engine configuration.

- Understands the right questions to ask to troubleshoot downtime issues, address adder charges, warranty issues, and auditing.

- Basic understanding of how a compressor works regardless of types, makes or models used in the region.

- Knowledge of organization and department policies and procedures.

- Knowledge of gas compression industry.

Minimum Education and Certification:

- Typically at least 5 years related or equivalent experience in compression engines.

- CAT and/or Waukesha zero hour rebuild experience.

- Field Experience with troubleshooting engines is preferred.

Leadership:

- Has no direct reports, but is expected to serve as a resource to others for problem solving, knowledge transfer, and training.

- Must be fit for duty for the job tasks being performed.

- Must meet the medical requirements necessary to wear PPE (includes respiratory protection medical requirements) as required by role.

- Frequently required to display good manual dexterity and to reach with hands and arms.

- Constantly required to talk and hear.

- Frequently required to sit, use a PC and perform repetitive duties.

- Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, and twist with good balance.

- Occasionally required to carry at least 10 pounds with one hand for at least 10 feet.

- Occasionally required to crawl, climb in and around equipment, stairs and vertical ladders.

- May be required to work at heights of up to 25 feet.

- Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
