System Administrator

RS21 is seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Administrator specializing in both LINUX and Windows environments. This role is critical in monitoring, maintaining, and enhancing the health and security posture of systems directly supporting our customer's mission-critical capabilities. The position is embedded with our Federal Partner at a classified site, requiring hands-on involvement and collaboration with program developers and system engineers to address and resolve system issues efficiently. This is an on-site role located at Buckley AFB in Aurora, Colorado.

Responsibilities:

Windows System Administration:

• Manage and maintain Windows Server 2012/2019 and Windows 7/10 environments.
• Administer enterprise-level network services such as Active Directory, DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP, and Exchange.
• Conduct Patch Management using WSUS, oversee McAfee ePO operations, manage clustering, OS upgrades, computer security, and system monitoring and logging.
• Utilize scripting, particularly in PowerShell, to automate tasks and processes.
• Handle deployment and administration of systems in AWS/C2S environments.

 Linux System Administration:

• Oversee Oracle Linux-based systems, including software patching, performance tuning, networking, user management via LDAP, and security enhancements.
• Strong command-line proficiency.
• Conduct hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Employ scripting skills in Bash and Python to streamline operations.

 Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI with CI polygraph and a transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance required prior to start date.
• Must be available for occasional after-hour maintenance and on-call support.
• U.S. citizenship is necessary, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Hold or be able to obtain DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification within 30 days of start date (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP).
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds for hardware installations.
• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

 Nice to Have:

• Proficiency in enterprise administration of services such as DNS, sendmail, and LDAP.
• Experience with desktop workstation collaboration products and protocols.
• Basic network knowledge and strong analytical and research skills.
• Detail-oriented with a strong ability to work independently and troubleshoot effectively.
