LightForce Orthodontics is seeking a talented, motivated, self-directed System Administrator to join our journey of transforming the orthodontics industry and help patients across the world enjoy their smile. In this role, you will help LightForce manage and improve our IT and Security environment. You will be expected to identify inefficiency and to evaluate then Implement new solutions in collaboration with the IT Manager and other internal teams. You will support our physical manufacturing locations in both Burlington, MA and Wilmington, MA, providing deskside support, and helping to maintain our physical data centers. You will also support a broad spectrum of tools and systems, provide timely and exceptional end user support, and maintain a knowledgebase of documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various platforms and applications.
- Respond to and resolve internal support requests, providing timely and effective technical assistance.
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure clear and organized information for reference and training.
- Identify and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor and manage system performance, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Work on assigned projects as needed
- Collaborate with the IT team to plan and implement system upgrades, updates, and patches to keep the infrastructure current and secure.
- Perform regular system backups and ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Assist with the coordination and execution of IT and Security focused audits.
- Identify and assist with opportunities for automation of IT functions.
- Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard the organization's IT assets and data from unauthorized access and potential threats.
- Evaluate and recommend IT solutions, tools, and technologies to improve system efficiency and user experience.
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, network devices, and other IT infrastructure components.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in IT system administration.
Education & Experience
- Bachelorโs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 3+ years supporting IT environments using cloud-based solutions.
- Proven experience as an IT System Administrator or in a similar role.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux) and networking technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Understanding of backup and disaster recovery methodologies and tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective technical support to end-users.
- Experience working with internal customers in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to data security and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation and system management tasks.
- Experience working with macOS/iOS and Windows Endpoint Management (MDM)
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Office 365) is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSA, CompTIA Network+, CCNA) are a plus.
- Experience with conference room technology using Zoom and/or Google Meet.
- Experience with SSO/SCIM and access control solutions such as Okta, Duo, Imprivata.
