System Administrator
Job Description
The System Administrator is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems with a focus on servers and network infrastructure. They will be responsible for documenting system configurations, job processes, program modifications, and system procedures across all systems. The SA is also responsible for adhering to the MIM Software Quality System, particularly to process control and acceptance procedures.
What You'll Do:
- Acquire, install, upgrade, and maintain computer components and software, provide routine automation, maintain security policies, offer technical support for projects, and provide appropriate documentation
- Coordinate with users and application vendors on technical issues, estimate time to resolution, and provide updates to concerned parties during issue resolution
- Communicate effectively with user on problems and resolution steps and status
- Address user questions, aggregate and prioritize user feedback, and plan and implement system enhancements based on personal expertise, user feedback, and the company’s objectives
- Research, review, recommend, and implement new or replacement systems, features, and updates to support our ecosystem and company operations better
- Develops and implements network policies in support of a security-first mindset under the direction of the DevSecOps Lead
What You'll Need:
- 5+ years’ experience designing and managing enterprise level infrastructure
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator or equivalent experience is preferred
- Working knowledge of Linux and Windows system administration, network security, and backup procedures
- Hands-on experience implementing various IT solutions, managing them using provided management consoles, and fine-tuning them based on monitoring/audit data that you know how to find
- Should have strong interpersonal communication skills, advanced computer networking skills, and problem-solving abilities
