System Administrator

Copper River Technologies is seeking a System Administrator to join our team supporting the United States Air Force! The System Administrator will support the engineering sustainment of an enterprise level application located within the USAF environment.  This role will work with a collaborative team to ensure success of efforts and initiatives that include: installation, upgrades, configuration, documentation, patches, and performance monitoring of the production system.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Provide all system administration support for migration from a physical hosting environment to a new cloud-based hosting system by re-engineering system and application components to operate in a cloud-based environment
• Assess operational functionality requirements and build technical specifications and requirements for cloud-based hosting solution
• Install, upgrade, configure, document, patch, and monitor the performance of the system components
• Troubleshoot SQL Server services outages as they occur.
• Ensure all databases are backed up in a way that meets the Recovery Point Objectives (RPO)
• Test backups to ensure we can meet the business Recovery Point Objectives (RPO)
• When performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including resource purchase recommendations in the Azure environment.
• Configure SQL Server and Azure SQL to implement performance tuning on current databases. Implement best practices into future system enhancements (Development, production, and test environments)
• Document eFOIA’s database environment state and status to include disaster recovery planning.
• Develop database queries to be used in reports, logs, and metrics for current and future environment containing SQL databases.
• Develop database queries to assist with troubleshooting database and application performance. i.e. Lookup content in the database to assist with troubleshooting.

• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in related field or additional experience

• Experience:
• 5+ years proven work experience in System Administration
• Experience maintaining a Microsoft Server Environment
• Strong scripting skills using Powershell
• Proficient with Microsoft SQL Server (2016 preferred)
• Knowledge of government STIG and SRG requirements and vulnerability patching
• Experience supporting a cloud-hosted environment (preferred)
• Proficient in IIS and HTML (preferred)
