Job Description

Torch Technologies, Inc. is seeking a motivated mid-level system administrator that can work with a team to monitor, update, and support a Hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) THAAD simulation lab. Seeking a candidate with a strong background in networking, security, and Linux. Knowledge with configuration management is a plus. Candidates will perform firmware updates, software updates, network configurations, and standing up new systems. Candidates will be required to travel for a portion of each year during Flight tests and other travel activities. This lab supports an independent test platform for the THAAD weapons system.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills both oral and written; exhibit the ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, customer focused work environment.

Some of the primary responsibilities will include:

  • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of system hardware and software on multiple Linux platforms.
  • Provide support for systems and users during MDA test events
  • Complete cybersecurity scans for the lab systems
  • Provide troubleshooting support for hardware and software
  • Manage user accounts on classified systems using multi-factor authentication.
  • Performing system backups and restores
  • As required, develop Plans of Action & Mitigation (POA&M) to document deviations from approved DISA STIG requirements
  • Ability to step through automating Red Hat Operating System builds

Job Requirements

Associate Degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience. Incumbent may have a Bachelor's Degree. Over 5 years related systems administration experience.
