System Administrator

Location: Madison, WI

The Position

We’re looking for a System Administrator to join our team in Madison, WI. This position is a new addition to the Information Systems & Informatics team.

Responsibilities

• Support the organization’s enterprise-level Network, Server, and Virtual infrastructure, as well as telecommunication systems, including both hardware and software components.
• Assist with end user support as needed
• Install and troubleshoot a variety of GxP computer systems, performs systems maintenance tasks, such as system back-up, recovery and file maintenance, and resolves technical problems.
• Manage computer related assets and inventory

Experience and Knowledge Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field
• Technical training in an Information Technology related field
• 4 years of experience in system administration or a similar area of work
• Knowledge of server software, hardware, and operating systems
• Experience with MS server products: Exchange, AD, SQL, TFS
• Expertise with VMWare, Citrix
• Previous experience in Project Environment and System Infrastructure is an advantage
• Knowledge of networking protocol TCP/IP and LAN administration, back-end software such as MS-SQL Server
• Good understanding of Windows Servers, Windows cluster servers, Windows Active Directory user management and group policy administration
• Conducting Disaster Recovery exercise and DR drill, SAN, Backup solutions, IT-infra monitoring solutions
• Previous working experience with VMware, Azure and AWS as well as Office 365, Veeam, End Point Manager (SCCM)
• Administration of Network switches L2 and Load balancer devices

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of systems admin support preferred
