System Administrator

Job Description

ASRC Federal Mission Solutions is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems.We are seeking a highly motivated System Administrator.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions

• Plan and implement vision for growth and continued maintenance of classified and unclassified virtual development environments, including growth of unclassified environment into hybrid cloud
• Network planning and implementation (both physical and virtual), working with enterprise networking team as needed
• Ensure virtual environments are secure using cybersecurity best practices
• Respond to trouble tickets for troubleshooting software, hardware, and networking issues.
• Configure IT hardware, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with company standards, best practices, and project requirements.
• Manage installation and maintenance of monthly security patches as required.
• Develop and maintain thorough documentation of installation, configuration, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Ability to multi-task and change direction as needed to meet customer needs.
• Be proactive in supporting management on technology direction, process development and implementation
• Monitor health and performance of virtual environments
• Assist in management of IT workflows and projects
• Support users in using the labs including setup of test environments when requested
• Adhere to IT policies and procedures
• Coordinate support of customer environments with appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
• Support migration of projects from non-production to production
• Contribute to the formulation of a vision and roadmap for the non-production environments and support implementation

Requirements

• Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering Management or related discipline, or equivalent related work experience and 7-9 years of related experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen in order to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance
• Experience with VMware vSphere v6.5 or newer. Horizon a plus.
• Experience with Windows (Active Directory) and Linux (RedHat, Ubuntu) servers
• Experience with PowerShell and Linux (bash/python) scripting.
• Cloud experience (Azure preferred)
• Knowledge of networking, including TCP/IP, firewall configuration, load balancers, LAN WAN technologies, and remote access technologies including VPN clients.
• Two or more certifications preferred across the following technology areas: VMWare, IT security, Cisco networking, data center, public cloud, project management, Microsoft server administration, Linux server administration, or IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
