System Administrator
Fisher's is seeking a qualified individual to fill our System Administrator position. System Administrators are responsible for fielding all technical escalations from other support staff, implementation of technical solutions through structured project work, managing expectations, and delivering satisfactory end results to customers. An ideal candidate must be a highly motivated individual with excellent customer service skills who can self-manage their time, when necessary, to maintain optimum efficiency. They should have strong communication and troubleshooting skills and be able to work well in high-stress situations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with Sales on technical solution design evaluations.
- Handle IT ticket escalations and strive to close tickets at first attempt.
- Maintain disaster recovery, backup and security strategies for customers.
- Ensure that assigned maintenance work orders are updated daily and customer notified.
- Manage your time effectively, plan for afterhours work and weekend work effectively. Regularly enter time in CRM for tracking/billing.
- Develop, implement, and analyze technical products and systems.
- Engage other Network/System Administrators and IT Field Technicians when needed. Follow up with them as the customer advocate when appropriate.
- Document each solution well in the internal knowledge base. Ensuring documentation stays current as things change or new solutions get implemented.
- Communicate effectively with UIT and other internal department employees, striving to maintain a positive environment.
- Be sensitive to the needs of the customer when planning downtime and server restarts.
- Recommend alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
- Meet and communicate regularly with team to discuss successes and struggles.
- Ensure productivity, inspect assigned work sites before work begins and at completion.
- Strong verbal and written skills.
- Follow verbal and written instructions.
- Maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
- Maintain inventory and accountability for tools, parts, test equipment and supplies used in the repair of network equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on selected equipment.
- Upgrade or replace hardware and/or software in commercial environments and at times, residential as dictated by customer contract and need.
- Support and maintain user account information including rights, security and systems groups.
- Respond to "after hours" emergency calls when needed and will be included in on call rotation schedule.
- Travel within Fisher's Markets and, on occasion, outside of Fisher's Markets
- Mentor and guide progress of other engineers and customer support representatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must be professional and represent the Fisher's core values in all aspects of assigned duties.
- Must be friendly, patient, and helpful to others, both inside and outside the office.
- Must be experienced with current workstation and server OS.
- Must be experienced with Active Directory (on-prem and Azure) and ADSync.
- Must have M365 and Azure experience. The more experience the better.
- Microsoft and/or Cisco Certification required.
- Must be experienced with Virtualization (VMWare and Hyper-V preferred).
- Must have experience and working knowledge of Firewalls and their configurations.
- Must be experienced with routing, switching and other needed network hardware and networking processes.
- Must be experienced with Wireless Technology
- 5+ Years of technical experience in IT fieldwork.
- 5+ years of experience in installation and repair of computers, network equipment and components.
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs. frequently, 50 lbs. occasionally and 50+ lbs. with assistance.
- Must be able to maintain, upgrade or replace hardware and software systems in most servers and/or workstations.
- Must be comfortable as a mentor.
- Must be comfortable travel related to business needs.
- Experience with VOIP is a plus, but not required.
- Experience with Line of Business Applications (Quickbooks, Sage, etc.) are a plus, but not required.
- Appropriate alternatives to the above qualifications may be sufficient as determined by the hiring manager.
